Prague in Pink: A Tutu-tastic Time! (Blog Post #110)

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a fresh post on pink-tutu.com, straight from the cobbled streets of Prague! You wouldn't believe the adventures I've been having โ€“ and the outfit I'm rocking!

As you all know, my motto is, "Every day is a ballet," and that includes travelling! This week I boarded a train to Prague from Vienna (oh, the thrill of the iron horse!), my trusty pink tutu tucked securely into my vintage suitcase. A tutu is essential for any journey, really, isn't it? It adds a touch of whimsy and makes any travel day a grand spectacle.

The journey itself was absolutely dreamy, a whirl of lavender fields and gothic castles that whizzed past my window. Honestly, it's enough to make you want to skip your way across the carriage. But I restrained myself, wouldn't want to draw any unwelcome attention! However, I did allow myself a quick waltz down the aisle when we stopped for tea. Just a tiny flourish, darling, enough to bring a smile to a fellow traveller's face.

When I arrived in Prague, I immediately set off to explore. Of course, my pink tutu was my travelling companion, twirling as I wandered through the historic squares and down the ancient alleyways. Everywhere you look, there's a burst of colourful history. I even found a little shop crammed full of antique tutus - what a treasure trove! Can't say I bought anything though, darling, I've got enough tutus to outfit a ballet company already!

Speaking of ballet companies, I saw the most glorious ballet performance tonight at the Prague State Opera! It was a production of "Swan Lake," one of my all-time favourite ballets. The costumes were exquisite, the choreography mesmerizing. And of course, the whole experience made me yearn to leap across the stage myself.

But back to the fashion... Oh my, darling! The shops here are just a wonderland! You can find anything you desire, from handcrafted jewellery to vintage fashion. I found the most incredible beaded bag, all in shimmering pinks, to match my tutu. And I couldn't resist a pair of delicate ballet shoes adorned with tiny pink pearls - I must wear them tomorrow when I visit the Prague Castle!

This is the place for fashionistas! The vibrant energy, the charming cafes... Prague has got it all. Honestly, it makes you want to dance! And, speaking of dance, you wouldn't believe what I found out! The whole city is abuzz about a little competition for "best dressed tutu" that they're having this coming weekend at the Old Town Square. Apparently, it's a real spectacle! So of course, I wouldn't miss it for the world! The best part? I've got my tutu ready, and I even got myself a brand new pink bow! It's going to be tutu-licious!

Stay tuned, my lovelies! I've got so much more to tell you about my Prague adventure!

P.S. I just finished reading an article on the fascinating history of the tutu. Did you know that it was actually created for the first time as part of a dance performance way back in the 1800s! The dancer at the time, Marie Taglioni, actually wore a skirt that just reached her knees! Imagine the scandal! Of course, we've come a long way since then, and the tutu has become a timeless symbol of grace and beauty.

So, what's your favourite tutu? Let me know in the comments!

And don't forget to check out pink-tutu.com for all the latest fashion, dance and travel updates! Until next week!

With love,

P.P.S: The event in Prague Emma is attending on June 4th 1997 could be the annual "Czech Republic Grand Prix" at the Old Town Square, or the "Dance Festival in Prague." This is a bit of historical speculation on my part, but it makes sense, given Emma's love of fashion and ballet! I would also add that since June 4th, 1997 falls within the Czech Republic's annual dance festival (usually running from June to October), it is quite possible Emma has found her way to this exciting and fashionable celebration.
