Pink Tutu Prague: Post #175 - A Ballet Lover's Dream in the City of a Hundred Spires

Hello darlings! It's Emma from Derbyshire, back with another delightful installment of my Pink Tutu adventures. This week, I've traded the rolling green hills of my home county for the enchanting cobbled streets of Prague. The City of a Hundred Spires has completely swept me off my feet, and let me tell you, there's no place I'd rather be than right here, in this glorious pink-tinted bubble of a city!

It all started with a beautiful ballet performance last night. Oh, the costumes, the choreography, the emotion! You'd think I'd seen a hundred shows before, but this was truly magical. We were treated to a breathtaking production of "Giselle" - it's the quintessential romantic ballet, all twirling and heartbreak and the beautiful fragility of human love. It almost made me weep, it was so captivating! Of course, I had my trusty pink tutu on for the occasion, but it seemed to fade in comparison to the artistry unfolding onstage. I know some think it's odd, going to the ballet in a tutu, but let me tell you, it's about so much more than just a costume. It's about the joy of dance, the passion, the commitment to expressing oneself through movement. And let's face it, a pink tutu is just simply delightful!

Speaking of delight, I have to tell you about this incredible hotel I'm staying at. It's tucked away in a quiet, cobbled alley, adorned with the most gorgeous ivy-covered walls, and oh, the interior! They've decorated it with antique chandeliers, elegant floral patterns, and just enough whimsy to feel utterly enchanting. And get this - they've actually got a private stable out back, with the sweetest little chestnut pony named Prince. Of course, I couldn't resist hopping on for a spin. (Yes, I did wear my pink tutu!) Prince, as lovely as he is, seemed a tad wary of my fashion sense. Maybe he's a purist when it comes to equine elegance?

After my princely adventures, it was time for a spot of shopping in the old town square. Prague is a fashion haven for any vintage enthusiast, bursting with hidden treasure troves of exquisite fabrics and unique pieces. It's like stepping back in time, finding that perfect silk scarf or a charming, beaded purse from a bygone era.

I even managed to snag myself a little gem of a vintage hat adorned with sparkling sequins. It felt so appropriate, like I'd just stepped out of a timeless fairy tale! (Let's be honest, every day feels a little like a fairy tale when you're wearing a pink tutu, don't you think?) I imagine that old-timey ladies wearing big hats like mine might've had similar feelings to mine, strutting around the city in their finest plumage. Now that I'm here, it seems like a dream!

But back to the city. Did I mention Prague's utterly breathtaking? I find myself constantly stopping to gawk at the architecture, marveling at the colorful facades and intricate details of the ancient buildings. From the iconic Charles Bridge to the winding lanes leading up to Prague Castle, every turn is a postcard-worthy scene.

It's a feast for the senses. I can smell the fresh bread wafting from charming bakeries and hear the cheerful tinkling of bells from street musicians, the whole ambiance making me feel like a giddy little girl who has just received the most wonderful gift! Prague feels as if it's holding its breath, waiting for someone to unleash its vibrant energy.

One of my favorite activities so far has been taking a relaxing walk along the Vltava River, sipping on a creamy cappuccino and watching the sunset paint the sky with streaks of orange and pink. There’s something about that beautiful contrast, that harmonious blend of city and nature, that feels absolutely enchanting.

Of course, I'm already planning my next ballet adventure. On Tuesday, I'm attending a "ballet in the park" event. Yes, you heard me right, darling! They're holding an outdoor ballet performance in the park. I've been told that the park itself is gorgeous, but it's really the chance to see an amazing show in such an unusual venue that has me excited. What's even better is that I get to try out this divine new pink tutu with ruffled trims that I found at the most amazing vintage store tucked away in a quaint corner of the old town. The saleswoman was lovely, just my type: chatty, enthusiastic and full of compliments on my "daring" fashion choice!

I’ll let you know how the ballet in the park goes!

Before I let you go, I wanted to talk about my favourite topic (of course!): pink tutus. They are not only the perfect complement to any city, they also seem to hold a certain power. I can't help but feel a wave of confidence when I twirl around in one, a burst of joyful energy, radiating from my fingertips to my toes.

While walking around Prague in my pink tutu, I've found people's reaction fascinating. Some people glance curiously, a few offer shy smiles, and occasionally, someone even gives a nod of approval. It's a simple, quiet celebration of life, of femininity, of unabashed joy. That’s the beauty of the tutu: it speaks a universal language of happiness and whimsical wonder, cutting across all social barriers.

Think of the joy a pink tutu can bring to a casual stroll through the park, a trip to the market, a picnic on a breezy afternoon, or a quiet evening in. Don't let yourself be confined to stuffy norms! Spread the pink tutu love - embrace it with gusto and share it with the world! It’s time for everyone to step into their own happy dance.

If you find yourself strolling the cobbled streets of Prague anytime soon, remember to check out my pink tutu recommendations. The lovely woman who runs the vintage shop is quite happy to help you choose the perfect pink tutu.

That’s it for now, darlings! Be sure to tune in next week, where I'll be sharing all my Parisian ballet secrets. In the meantime, go out there and twirl your heart out, because you only get to live life once. And remember, the only true fashion faux pas is wearing your frown! Until then, happy twirling!

Love always, Emma from PinkTutu
