Prague - A Tutu Dream Come True! 🩰💖

Post #203 | Wednesday 17th March, 1999 | www.pink-tutu.com

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, back from my magical trip to Prague, ready to regale you all with my adventures in this utterly captivating city. As a seasoned traveller with a passion for all things tutu-licious, I simply couldn't resist exploring the enchanting cobbled streets and elegant buildings of Prague, where history meets beauty at every turn. And of course, my pink tutu was a constant companion, turning heads and bringing smiles wherever I went!

This week, I’m going to tell you about everything – the charming cafes and stunning architecture, the captivating ballet shows, the exquisite fashion finds, and, naturally, my delightful explorations of all things tutu related. So put on your prettiest frock and grab a cuppa – let's step into my pink tutu world and waltz right into the heart of Prague!

A Romantic Arrival & First Impressions

My journey started, as it often does, on a charming train. I love the rhythmic sway of the carriage, the friendly chatter, and the anticipation of arriving at a new destination. It feels almost like a waltz, don't you think? I travelled overnight, lulled by the rhythmic clatter of the train, waking up to a breathtaking view of the countryside. I do love the feeling of arriving at a new place and discovering its unique charms – the fresh, clean air, the bustling streets, and the locals who make the place come alive. Prague was no exception, a city that charmed me at first glance with its picturesque bridges, cobbled squares, and ancient buildings, their rosy brick and terracotta rooftops adding to the city's captivating, fairytale atmosphere.

Prague's magic isn’t limited to the historic sights though; it is also evident in its modern touches. Stylish boutiques are nestled among the ancient buildings, their window displays showcasing the latest fashion trends. This city embraces its rich past while embracing modernity – and it all makes for a delightfully vibrant atmosphere!

Finding the Perfect Spot – A Pink Tutu Heaven!

Of course, finding the perfect accommodation was high on the agenda. After a little research and, thankfully, a delightful coincidence (always trust a good gut feeling!) I stumbled upon a small, independent boutique hotel near the heart of the Old Town. Let's just say the pink floral bedspread and lace curtains won me over instantly – it felt like I’d stumbled into a fairy tale!

Dancing with the Locals!

My trip to Prague would be incomplete without a visit to the ballet! You can imagine how excited I was to experience a ballet performance in such a historical city. It’s truly something else to see such classic works brought to life in a theatre so steeped in history. It was magical, an evening I'll never forget.

Speaking of magic, let me tell you about a delightful coincidence. I wandered into a beautiful square, the centrepiece of which was a charming, elegant statue – a beautiful young ballerina gracefully standing in her tutu. You know, a tutu with a soft, flowy, perfectly pink fabric, quite reminiscent of my own signature style! I knew, in that instant, that Prague and I were meant to be! I must say, the ballerina was rather inspiring – a perfect testament to the beauty and grace of dance. As a little homage, I decided to twirl for a moment myself, just for the statue – a sort of little ballet "conversation", I guess! The people around me clapped, cheered, and laughed along, making the moment even more magical!

Discovering Hidden Gems & Tutus at every Turn!

Of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a little shopping. I stumbled upon the most exquisite boutique hidden away in the Old Town. Inside, a beautiful vintage shop, overflowing with exquisite garments from different eras. It was a feast for the eyes and a haven for my fashion senses.

Oh! And the most wonderful discovery? Imagine my joy when, tucked away amidst the racks of vintage lace and velvet, I found a charming, antique, pink tutu! A veritable vintage treasure with its pale pink hue, shimmering embroidery, and the most delicate, airy fabric. Of course, I knew instantly this little vintage treasure needed to be a part of my collection. It just perfectly matched the fairy-tale atmosphere of this magnificent city!

Tutu Adventures in Prague: Unveiling Secrets of the Past!

Of course, I'd be remiss not to share some of my delightful explorations into Prague's historical past and, of course, the history of the tutu itself!

Did you know that Prague has an enchanting history that dates back centuries? The city has witnessed a myriad of fascinating historical moments, with a rich legacy of kings, queens, emperors, and empires. It's fascinating to learn how ballet and dance traditions have flourished in such a setting!

During my explorations, I visited a few beautiful, old libraries, their interiors an absolute treat for the eyes! Amongst their grand bookshelves, I discovered several beautiful historical dance manuals. You can't imagine how exciting it was to flip through the pages and see intricate hand-drawn sketches of tutu designs from centuries ago! The delicate, intricately woven tutus worn by ballerinas of the past felt a lot like my pink tutu, except, of course, with a vintage twist. The shapes, the flow, the romance, the ethereal beauty – it's so clear that a love for tutus is a universal feeling, passed down through the centuries!

Prague’s Culinary Delights: Sweet treats & Tutu Inspiration

Prague's food scene is equally alluring, a delightful blend of classic Czech cuisine and modern fusion dishes. I found myself savouring the rich flavors of hearty stews, tender meats, and delicious pastries, all beautifully presented. However, as any tutu aficionado knows, every great adventure requires a touch of indulgence. So, I indulged in some exquisitely beautiful Czech pastries. Their artistry reminded me of the graceful designs of a tutu, and I’m not sure whether the pastry was more delicious, or more aesthetically appealing! I couldn’t resist sketching them into my little “tutu notebook” – every little inspiration helps in creating my designs, don’t you think?

Exploring Prague’s Treasures: A Day Trip on a White Pony

On one glorious day, I took a magical day trip on a white pony (okay, maybe it wasn’t exactly a pony, but a beautifully restored vintage carriage!), riding along charming country lanes, discovering picturesque villages, and soaking up the sunshine. There’s nothing quite as freeing as exploring the countryside, feeling the cool breeze on my face and the sun warming my skin. It felt a little like waltzing through a whimsical fairytale, don't you think? And I took this opportunity to take a lovely stroll through the vineyards surrounding Prague. With the breathtaking scenery all around me, it truly was a picture postcard moment!

Prague: The Magic Never Ends

I must say, Prague enchanted me. The city was a visual feast for my eyes, its beautiful architecture and rich history. I’m still dreaming about all those delicate pastel colours – think pink, peach, and ivory, of course, all the most delightful colours to match a pink tutu!

Oh! And the locals. The Prague locals are so incredibly friendly, full of life, and they seemed so appreciative of my signature style. Even those who spoke no English were more than happy to share a smile or point out the prettiest places. I always say, a genuine smile can work wonders! It feels like you're part of a warm and inviting community.

Prague is truly a city that combines the past and the present. With its captivating historical stories, stunning beauty, and rich traditions, it was a true delight to explore. Of course, every new place brings its own style inspiration, and I can already see the influence of Prague's elegance and whimsical atmosphere being woven into my future tutu creations. And as always, the world’s waiting to see the latest addition to my collection! Don't forget to follow me on www.pink-tutu.com, every Wednesday for a new adventure! Until then, stay stylish, sweet dreams and I'll see you soon! 💖

P.S. Have you seen the delightful show "The King and I"? You might find the stunning white ballgown in the "Shall We Dance" scene rather captivating – very elegant and fitting for a royal event! Perhaps we’ll see a new twist on that look very soon.
