Pink Tutu Prague - Post #259 - 12th April, 2000: Dancing Through the cobbled streets!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing travel blogger Emma, bringing you the latest from the cobbled streets of Prague! I'm so thrilled to be in this beautiful city, filled with history and a magical air that truly resonates with my ballerina soul.

This week, my adventures have been an enchanting blend of culture, fashion, and of course, ballet! As you know, I believe there’s nothing more beautiful than a swirling pink tutu, and I simply had to wear my newest acquisition - a blush pink creation with delicate, hand-stitched flowers – to explore Prague.

It seems my passion for tutus is contagious, because every time I’ve waltzed down a street, I've caught a few stares from locals - some amused, some slightly bewildered - but I simply twirl on with a cheeky smile. They say "Don't judge a book by its cover," right? Well, darling, I'd say don’t judge a tutu-clad ballerina by her bubbly personality!

The Magical Journey by Train:

My trip from Derbyshire, England, to Prague was a dreamy affair, filled with delicious pastries and views of countryside dotted with sleepy towns. I decided to travel by train this time - so much more romantic, wouldn't you say? My journey felt like a scene out of a ballet – each chug of the engine like a graceful step, the passing landscape a beautiful blur of colours. It was all so perfectly charming.

Once in Prague, I knew my first stop had to be a visit to the breathtaking National Theatre. The sheer scale and grandeur of this building is enough to make any ballet fan gasp, and I’ve simply got to find out which ballerina performances they have on.

Shopping for Pink Delights in Old Town Prague

Before exploring the ballet world, though, I just had to go shopping! This city is brimming with amazing boutiques and independent stores – true fashionistas will rejoice at the exquisite fabrics and vintage pieces they offer.

I simply had to buy myself a few pieces to help complete my Prague look - you can’t come to a beautiful city like this without feeling chic, right? I picked up a gorgeous pastel pink hat with a delicate velvet ribbon, some pretty floral brooches, and a few charming scarves with whimsical prints – each item perfectly encapsulating the magical feel of this enchanting city.

Prague’s History: A Ballet for the Ages

Speaking of magical, my favourite find so far is the Old Town Square. This breathtaking square is alive with history, cobblestone streets, stunning gothic architecture and the iconic astronomical clock. Just imagine, darling, how many stories these very stones have witnessed over the centuries! It's truly a testament to the resilience and spirit of the human story.

Of course, I couldn’t resist channeling my inner ballerina for some photographs. The grandeur of the architecture simply begged for a twirl! I felt like I was in a beautiful, elaborate ballet set, every twirl and pose telling a different chapter of this magical place.

And then there's the Charles Bridge! Oh darling, its charm is unmatched. The ornate statues and breathtaking views of the river are a must-see for anyone visiting Prague. It’s as though the city itself wants to be admired from every angle – just like a ballerina showcasing her beauty during a graceful pirouette.

The Magic of Ballet:

This evening, I was thrilled to be at the Národní Divadlo for their stunning performance of The Nutcracker. Oh my goodness, darlings! What a production! The set was breathtaking – truly a wonderland for both the eyes and the soul. And the dancers were so incredibly talented. Their every movement was graceful, each step as light as a feather. They made every jump look effortless. I felt myself drawn in, mesmerized by their storytelling and beauty. You simply must catch it if you are here.

The sheer magic of it all reminds me, once again, of how powerful and beautiful ballet is, how it can transport us to another world, a world of fantasy and emotions. There is nothing that evokes such magic and grace quite like a ballerina twirling in a pink tutu under a magnificent chandelier.

The Final Waltz

My darling friends, I can't tell you how much I am loving this little adventure in Prague! There's still so much more to explore - hidden alleys, cozy cafes, beautiful parks and even more exquisite ballet performances.

My dear readers, I promise you, a pink tutu is a truly magical passport to adventure, friendship, and good vibes.

Remember, even the most magical of experiences, whether they involve ballet, shopping, travelling or just a leisurely stroll through the park, are always best shared. So please, grab a friend, grab a pink tutu, and come explore this amazing city with me. We'll make some unforgettable memories together!

Until next Wednesday, I bid you a fond adieu, darlings! And remember, if life isn’t a fairytale, then wear a pink tutu until it is.

Always,

Emma xoxo
