Pink Tutu Prague: Post 308 - A Whirlwind of Tutus and Trdelník

Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger Emma here, bringing you the latest from the magical city of Prague! This week, I’ve been twirling through cobbled streets, sipping on frothy coffees, and getting my fix of everything ballet-tastic. As always, my pink tutu has been my constant companion, bringing a touch of Derbyshire sparkle to this stunning European city.

A Touch of Prague Magic

Arriving in Prague by train (which, let's be honest, is the only way to travel in style, especially when your luggage is crammed full of tutus), I was immediately smitten with its fairytale charm. The Old Town Square, with its iconic Astronomical Clock and gothic architecture, felt like a stage set for a ballet performance. Imagine it: graceful dancers pirouetting beneath the towering spire of the Tyn Church, their tutus shimmering in the lamplight. Pure magic, I tell you!

Speaking of tutus, have I mentioned mine? It’s a blush pink beauty with a delicate layer of tulle and a smattering of sparkling sequins. I know, I know, it’s the perfect pink-tutu-wearing ballerina's travel companion! I mean, it wouldn’t be a trip to Prague without a stylish outfit to match the city's sophisticated vibes, wouldn't you say?

Prague's Ballet Delights

And speaking of sophistication, my first order of business in Prague was, of course, to take in a ballet performance. I’m so glad I decided to attend a showing of the "Sleeping Beauty" at the National Theatre. The dancers were divine, their movements fluid and graceful, a symphony of beauty. There was a certain je ne sais quoi about the whole performance. A touch of mystery and whimsy. Just like the city itself, honestly.

Oh, and I can’t forget the stunning costumes! Imagine a whirlwind of shimmering satins, feather boas, and yes, even tutus, swirling around the stage. My inner ballerina swooned with delight. And I know it inspired me to take to my own dancing. I can see it now: Emma twirling amongst the baroque statues, her pink tutu catching the setting sun in a perfect fairytale ending!

Tutu Trails and Treat Time

After a whirlwind of ballet performances, I embarked on my own tutued-adventure, exploring the winding streets of Prague and soaking up the beauty. First stop: the iconic Charles Bridge. It’s so incredibly picturesque. Imagine the storybook scene: sun setting, me in my pink tutu, with the bridge and its statues as my backdrop, the water reflecting the colours in the sky... and then... bam! A spontaneous photo op with a lovely group of tourists who adored the tutu and even a proposal for a group ballet photograph! See, pink tutus are good for inspiring romance!

My Prague itinerary wouldn't be complete without a proper shopping spree. Now, I have a secret favourite boutique on the edge of the Old Town square, with vintage treasures and exquisite vintage-inspired accessories. My latest find was a vintage silk scarf – it had a floral design, almost as delicate as my ballerina flower-covered tutu!

I simply adore Prague's cobblestone alleys! They wind through the city's heart, revealing hidden squares and cozy cafes, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air. I even found myself a lovely spot nestled near a quaint little square with a street musician, playing an elegant waltz as I twirled and my pink tutu whirled in the breeze. Oh, the life of a ballerina blogger!

Of course, no Prague adventure would be complete without indulging in some local treats! So naturally, I had to sample the legendary "trdelník." You haven’t lived until you’ve sunk your teeth into that warm, cinnamon-y delight!

Ballet Dreams in Prague

Speaking of dreams, my ballet adventure isn’t over yet! Tomorrow, I'm heading to the city's renowned ballet school to take a master class in classical ballet. I’m really excited! Who knows, maybe my visit will inspire the next generation of ballet dancers.

Don’t worry, you can be sure that I’ll be documenting my dance adventures in a pink tutu in next week’s post, including a review of my ballet class, photos of me and the other students (it’s ok to be excited for these!), plus more insights into this fantastic city, from a ballerina’s perspective.

Oh, and did I mention that I'm looking for more people to join my Pink Tutu Prague movement?! It's so important to spread joy and passion through the power of tutus. If you're reading this from Prague or around the world and have the audacity and fabulousness to join the movement, let me know! We can all embrace our inner ballerina and strut our pink-tutu stuff, bringing a touch of delight to every corner of this amazing world!

Until next Wednesday, darlings! Keep twirling and keep the pink-tutu love alive.
