Pink Tutu Prague: Post #321 - Whirlwind in the Czech Capital! 🩰🇨🇿

Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Prague! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another glamorous installment in my Czech adventure! I've been swept up in the enchanting world of Prague - a city brimming with history, beauty, and (of course!) delicious opportunities for tutus!

Now, before we dive into this week’s ballet bonanza, let me rewind a little… Last week, I found myself bidding farewell to the stunning scenery of Vienna, a city that truly understood the power of pink tulle! My last Viennese waltz was at the magnificent Vienna State Opera, and I'll never forget the shimmering, blush-tinted backdrop that brought Swan Lake to life. 🦢

From Vienna, I boarded a magnificent, scarlet-red train – you know I always opt for a carriage with ample legroom and views of the countryside – and chugged through rolling hills towards the Czech Republic. The scenery, my dears, was breathtaking! Imagine fields of wildflowers as bright as my new blush pink shoes and skies the color of spun sugar – just picture it! 💖

Arriving in Prague was like stepping into a fairytale. Cobbled streets lined with pastel-hued buildings, each one whispering stories of emperors, artists, and legendary ballet dancers! I’ve even heard rumours that Mozart himself once graced this city with his presence, but more on that later! 🎶

Now, I simply cannot resist the allure of a grand hotel upon arrival, so I found myself tucked away in a charming boutique hotel nestled right in the heart of Old Town Square. My room boasts the most delightful balcony overlooking the iconic astronomical clock - and a view this stunning practically demands a ballerina pose! 💃

Speaking of poses, my first order of business upon settling in was, of course, finding a place to get my daily ballet fix! Fortunately, Prague is a haven for dance enthusiasts like myself. I stumbled upon a small, intimate ballet school called Tančíme nestled down a cobbled side street, just off the bustling market square. The studio is painted a delicate, lilac shade – and did I mention the chandeliers? 💫 I felt instantly at home. My first class was a blissful blend of barre work, lyrical movement, and playful stretches, culminating in a performance piece that left me feeling light as a feather!

But, Prague has so much more to offer than just a whirl in the studio. The city’s historic charm is intoxicating! Just imagine, meandering through the charming Old Town, the air thick with the scent of roasted chestnuts and spiced gingerbread. A gentle breeze whispers through the leaves of the iconic Charles Bridge as I admire the statues of saints and admire the stunning panoramic views of the city… It’s simply magical! 💫

Then there’s the shopping! Prague’s boutiques overflow with exquisite treasures, especially when it comes to vintage finds! I've discovered a real penchant for delicate lace and brocades - perfect for incorporating into a new, blush-toned ballet leotard or a shimmering pink tulle skirt, just waiting for the perfect evening at the opera! 🎀

Speaking of opera, darling, this week’s ballet delight took place in a theatre that had me truly spellbound. The Prague State Opera, my dears, is truly a breathtaking building – just wait until you see the crystal chandeliers! The interior is opulent, with scarlet velvet seats, golden embellishments, and frescoes depicting scenes from mythical tales – it's like stepping into a ballet performance of the gods! ✨

This evening, I had the distinct pleasure of witnessing La Bayadere, a production that captivated me with its story of love, loss, and sacrifice set against a breathtaking backdrop of ancient India. I'll confess, I almost forgot to take notes I was so lost in the artistry, but fear not, my dear readers, I still captured the essence of the production for you. 🩰

As the final notes of the performance faded away, I stood there, in the heart of Prague, mesmerized by the beauty of ballet, the elegance of the costumes, the strength of the dancers – the entire experience left me feeling completely rejuvenated. 💫

I can’t wait to explore even more of this remarkable city – and more importantly, its captivating ballet scene! My upcoming week promises a performance by the Prague National Ballet, and I simply can’t wait to see how their unique take on Don Quixote will dance its way into my heart. I’ll also be exploring Prague’s enchanting cafes – you simply must try the Viennese pastries – and maybe even squeeze in some dress fittings for my new tutu collection. 😉

Oh, my darlings, I can already sense that my journey to Prague is about to reach new levels of pink-tutu perfection! As always, I'll be sure to update you on all my ballet-tastic discoveries! ✨

Stay pink, Emma xx
