Prague: A Fairytale Come True (Pink Tutu Blog Post #343)

Hello my darling Tutu Tribe!

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means! It's time for another dose of pink, glitter, and all things Tutu from your favourite blogger - that's me, Emma, straight from the heart of Prague! This beautiful city has absolutely captured my heart, and it's practically bursting at the seams with charm, history, and of course, fabulous dance opportunities.

It's been a whirlwind of a week. I arrived by train - something I just adore! You can't beat that feeling of gliding through the countryside, sipping hot chocolate and admiring the views from a big, comfy window. I think trains and pink tutus should be synonymous! I can practically see the headline now: "Emma and her Tutu Conquer the Rail Network." ;) But let's be real, there was no train carriage on earth big enough for my tulle explosion. So, imagine a tutu-tastic mini me bursting forth in all my fluffy glory.

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without a spot of shopping. And trust me, this city has you covered! I found the most divine boutique tucked away on a cobbled side street. Just think delicate lace, luxurious silks, and... whispers enough pink to make a flamingo blush. I emerged with enough tulle to make my own personal tutu storm cloud, along with some fabulous vintage hats to match. The shop owner, a sweet little lady with twinkling eyes and an even twinklier smile, practically beamed at me when I announced my aim of bringing pink tutus to the masses. She even promised to help me source some beautiful vintage fabric for my own design! Oh, the possibilities!

But enough about my shopping spree. Let's get back to what truly matters: dancing! My feet haven't stopped tapping since I stepped foot in this fairytale city. Every cobblestone square is begging to be twirled on, and every fountain whispers a different ballet story. Prague is alive with culture, history, and a deep, deep love for all things dance.

Today, however, was the pièce de résistance, the cherry on top of my tutu-covered cake: a ballet performance at the National Theatre. Just walking into the theatre felt like stepping into a gilded dream. All marble columns, crystal chandeliers, and red velvet seating... sigh Perfection!

Tonight, I watched Swan Lake, a truly mesmerizing ballet. Imagine graceful swan movements, delicate pas de deux, and costumes so elegant they practically sang. My heart swelled with the music, the emotions of the ballet dancers resonated with my very soul, and my feet practically danced along with the ballerinas, despite the plush velvet cushion beneath me. There's simply something magical about a classic ballet performance like Swan Lake that leaves you spellbound.

This isn't just another trip for me. This is an adventure, a celebration, and a search for something truly magical. I'm sharing my love for ballet with the world, one tulle-covered step at a time. I hope that with every pink tutu I put on, I inspire a bit of magic and happiness in the lives of others. I'm sure that when I get back home to Derbyshire, I'll have so many tutu tales to tell.

And now, my dears, I bid you adieu. But don't forget to check in next Wednesday for more pink tulle adventures from yours truly! I promise you, the tutu train is just getting started!

With twirling kisses,

Emma

P.S. Don't forget to visit my website at www.pink-tutu.com for even more dance-inspired goodness, tutu fashion tips, and, of course, a whole lot of pink!

P.P.S I'm currently researching a ballet company here in Prague called The Prague Ballet. They seem absolutely incredible and have been performing since the early 20th Century. Their dance studio has been in operation since 1882 - can you believe that? It's a treasure trove of history and beautiful performance art. If anyone's been to see their shows, I'd love to hear all about them!

P.P.P.S Have you tried the traditional Czech Trdelník? It's a cinnamon-y, sugary baked pastry. Just a tip from your Tutu Princess! You have to try it.
