Prague: Whirlwind of Wonder, Pink Tutu Style! 🩰✨

Hello my dearest pink tutu darlings! Welcome to post number 391 of the Pink Tutu blog! Today we're diving into the dreamy heart of Prague, where I'm swirling and twirling my way through a kaleidoscope of culture, fashion, and of course, ballet.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Prague...tutus...it's a bit of a fairytale pairing, isn't it? And that's precisely why I'm so thrilled to be here, experiencing this historic city through my very own pink lens. 💖

My journey started in Derbyshire, my home county, where the crisp autumn air inspired me to dust off my trusty, hand-stitched, shimmering pink tutu. You see, every outing is a tutu occasion, wouldn't you agree? I packed my most treasured tutu, a vintage confection with cascading tiers of tulle, and boarded the train with my heart full of anticipation. (Did I tell you I'm absolutely smitten with trains? Their elegant rhythm and the whirring of the wheels...such a lovely soundtrack for my pink-hued thoughts!)

Speaking of thoughts, they're dancing a wild, waltz-like jig right now. That's because I'm currently sipping a creamy latte in a charming little cafe overlooking the Charles Bridge. It's like stepping out of a painting! The cobbled streets are overflowing with colourful stalls, bustling locals, and the melodic sound of a street musician playing a poignant Czech tune. Honestly, the atmosphere here is so romantic, it makes me want to twirl in my pink tutu and serenade passersby with a little pirouette and a grand jete.

But first, shopping! Prague is a haven for vintage treasures, and I simply had to explore. The local boutiques are filled with the most exquisite clothes – silks and velvets and lace oh my! And did you know that tutu history goes back centuries? In fact, I'm certain that this very city is brimming with stories about magnificent ballgowns and delicate tutus worn by Prague's most celebrated dancers.

Speaking of which, the ballet program in Prague is positively astounding! I'm here to see La Bayadere at the National Theatre – can you believe it? La Bayadere in Prague! It's a dream come true. I’ve already booked a private ballet class this afternoon. We'll be perfecting our arabesques and fouettés and channeling the spirit of legendary ballerinas! Oh, the elegance, the grace!

(Speaking of class, I absolutely cannot leave without finding the most magnificent ballet shoes for my new pointe collection. If you're lucky, perhaps I'll reveal a sneak peek of them in my next post – but I'll keep the design under wraps for now!)

The Pink Tutu motto, as you know, is to inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu, because it's not just about clothing; it's about feeling empowered, free, and joyous! The power of pink, my darlings, is undeniable. Think of how the vibrant colour makes the grey streets sparkle and how it can lift your mood on a cloudy day!

But Prague is a city of pink in its own right! From the blushing facades of historic buildings to the delicately-hued sunset over the Vltava River, Prague itself embodies the charm of my favourite colour! And don't even get me started on the famous Prague Castle! Its enchanting presence is the embodiment of fairy tales, reminding me that dreams, just like pink tutus, should be a constant part of our lives!

Of course, the perfect complement to my pink tutu adventures is my loyal and ever-so-adorable pony, Starbright. I’ll be taking her out to explore Prague’s green spaces in the coming days – think charming cobblestone squares, breathtaking botanical gardens, and charming hidden parks.

Starbright may be a tad shy (well, she does have a penchant for chomping on flowerbeds!), but her graceful gait and delicate mane always remind me of the grace and beauty of ballet. Together, we’ll paint the cobblestone streets with the shades of pink that symbolise my passion for life and for spreading tutu magic!

So stay tuned for more exciting posts, dear pink-tutu-loving friends! My Prague adventures are only just beginning, and you know me, it’s only going to get more exciting!

This evening, I plan to witness the stunning sunset over the Charles Bridge, wearing my most magical, feather-trimmed tutu. The sight, I'm sure, will be breathtaking. And if you're lucky, I might even capture a shot of it and share it with you in my next blog post.

For now, until next Wednesday, twirl on my pink darlings, twirl on!

Emma
