Prague's Pink Promise: Blog Post #399

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means? A brand new pink-tastic adventure, straight from my tutu-tastic travels in Prague!

The journey here was pure delight! The train rattled its way through the picturesque countryside, and I found myself mesmerised by the changing scenery, all framed by my carriage window, a beautiful silver-edged rectangle of pure magic. The whole trip was a visual feast, reminding me how truly wonderful travel by rail can be. I felt every bit the modern-day Jane Austen heroine, but instead of a chaperone, I had my ever-reliable and sparkly pink carry-on. (Just imagine the look on everyone's face when I whip it out!)

Now, you all know my devotion to tutus goes beyond the mere wearing of them. (Don’t even get me started on my latest acquisition – it's a bespoke lavender confection, fit for a queen and perfect for waltzing the streets of Prague!) But Prague has me absolutely giddy with delight. The city is an actual treasure trove for tutu history! I'm in a ballet history enthusiast’s dream land – can you believe they even have a special theatre dedicated to ballet?! It's called the National Theatre, a beautiful structure of art nouveau grandeur, a masterpiece fit for the graceful leaps of our favourite dancers.

My week in Prague began with an afternoon exploring the magical streets. I am loving all the cute little shops! I mean, it's not every day that one finds a pink satin hair scrunchie in the shape of a miniature swan – not to mention a little vintage tutu with sequins just like mine. I found them both in an antique store that smelled of old parchment and time, just a couple of blocks from my charming guesthouse (the owners are just the sweetest, with a love for all things pink!), a stone's throw from the Charles Bridge. Did I tell you that my darling travel companion, a little chestnut pony named Sugarplum, was a star in my Instagram stories? He even wore a tiny, adorable pink bow for the occasion – he was definitely the best dressed on the bridge.

As for today’s adventure, I was truly graced with the privilege of attending the "Pink Panther" Ballet, at the National Theatre, an evening that was an absolute feast for the senses! Now, I won’t spoil it for you, but there were a dozen tutus on stage – some pink, of course, and some that just might tempt me to ditch my lavender masterpiece for the time being – you've got to admire the versatility of the classic tutu! The costumes, the artistry, the passion on stage... well, I have to say, it left me absolutely spellbound.

But my travels don't just focus on the elegant world of ballet and tutus. I do, of course, love my shopping excursions, discovering new local fashionistas and boutiques.

Today's highlight has to be the absolutely delightful "Pink Peacock" boutique. Oh, darling, I am absolutely swooning over their collection of vintage shoes! They've got a selection of cherry-red pumps, ruby-red platform sandals, and oh-so-chic gold ballet flats. Each one a masterpiece, crafted with delicate stitching and perfect proportions. The boutique even has a wall dedicated to tutus – a veritable tutu haven, and the owner even complimented my own!

After my successful shop, I treated myself to a delightful pot of Czech hot chocolate (the secret ingredient, as I learned, is a sprinkle of pink peppercorns!) in a cozy café on Old Town Square, a true gem, with stunning architecture. It was a place filled with whispers of the past and the energy of a vibrant future, much like the heart of Prague itself.

Tonight, I have a delicious, fragrant candlelight dinner planned, followed by an immersive tour of Prague's architectural wonders - the St. Vitus Cathedral is a personal favourite! Its stunning spires and majestic Gothic grandeur leave me speechless. Oh, I’m simply enthralled by this city – a tapestry of history, romance, and sheer beauty.

I'll be back next week, darlings, with more Prague delights. And be sure to check my website for updates on upcoming ballet performances – remember, supporting the arts is an absolute necessity!

Until then, wear pink, be fabulous, and spread the tutu love!

With love and sparkle, Emma

P.S. My dearest readers, keep your eyes peeled for a little something special on my website! It's a new line of pink tutu accessories!
