Prague Calling: Tutu-licious Adventures in the City of a Hundred Spires! (Post 406)

Hello darling tutu-lovers!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of my Prague adventures! This week has been a whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and fairytale charm. Just imagine - cobbled streets, towering spires, and me, in my oh-so-pretty pink tutu, twirling amidst it all! It's enough to make any girl's heart skip a beat, or at least mine!

As you know, my passion for ballet goes hand-in-hand with my love for exploring new corners of the world. And Prague, oh Prague, is a true gem. It's a city that just begs to be explored in all its historical glory, while rocking a gorgeous outfit, naturally!

Back to the Beginning: Ballet Beginnings in Derbyshire

Speaking of history, let's rewind the tape for a moment, shall we? As a Derbyshire girl, I grew up surrounded by the echoes of the past. Our beautiful county has played host to some incredible ballerinas over the years, like the legendary Dame Margot Fonteyn! The stories of her childhood ballet classes inspired me to start dancing at the tender age of four. It was a love at first prance, and I knew I wanted to devote my life to ballet.

As I progressed in my studies, I was drawn to the fascinating history of the tutu. I discovered the origins of the short, romantic tutu that graces my wardrobe, the longer classical tutus, and the incredible evolution of the dance skirt, which was a symbol of revolutionary modernity in its day!

My Tutu-tastic Journey: From England to Europe and Beyond!

From the tiny village halls of Derbyshire, my passion for ballet has taken me across the world. I've danced in grand theatres, performed in bustling city streets, and even found myself gliding across a stage on the back of a horse! My adventures have brought me to France, Italy, and even Russia, where I experienced the majesty of ballet in its birthplace!

As for my beloved pink tutu, she's travelled with me every step of the way, her layers of tulle a testament to the enduring beauty and grace of ballet. Every journey with her is a new chapter in my fairytale.

Prague Calling: Ballet in the City of Dreams!

Now, back to Prague! Today's the big day, the day I've been eagerly anticipating - the performance I've been fundraising for since last month. You know me - always keeping those tutus spinning!

Today, I'll be showcasing my signature performance in the intimate setting of Prague's "Kampa" Island theatre. This enchanting space is nestled beside the winding Vltava River and evokes the romantic spirit of Prague perfectly!

I've been working tirelessly, perfecting my repertoire, with a brand new, custom-designed tutu. It's a symphony of pink with intricate hand-painted flowers. My pink tutu ensemble for tonight is the ultimate expression of elegance, femininity, and pure ballerina spirit, wouldn't you agree?

Fashion Fusion: Prague's Trendy Boutiques

Before we get lost in the ballet, let's take a quick trip to Prague's fabulous fashion district. Prague is a true haven for fashion lovers! Every street corner reveals an unexpected boutique overflowing with vintage gems, bold statement pieces, and of course, endless pink possibilities! I discovered a quirky little shop called "The Dressmaker's Dream," packed with whimsical dresses, tutus (in every colour imaginable), and vintage hats. The perfect place to find that finishing touch for your next dance performance!

And speaking of dance performances, tonight's show is all about showcasing the spirit of Prague. The theme? "The Enchanted City" – a tale woven with local legends, magical characters, and, of course, a touch of my personal twist! You might just spot me in a beautiful floral tutu, or perhaps twirling with a magical bird-cage tutu. Who knows, but expect surprises!

After the Curtain Falls: Prague's Nightlife Magic

After the show, I plan to lose myself in the charm of Prague's nocturnal streets. Imagine cobblestones glowing under the soft amber light of streetlamps, hidden corners brimming with live music, and, oh, those decadent chocolate truffles! It's the perfect combination for a truly magical evening.

Travel Tips: Finding Your Fairy-tale Journey

For those of you considering a trip to Prague, I have some tips! Don't be afraid to embrace the romance and enchantment. Treat yourself to a decadent, traditional Czech meal, a mug of frothy beer in the Old Town Square, or a walk along the Vltava River as the sun sets.

But most importantly, bring your love for life, a smile, and of course, a fabulous pink tutu!

Remember to join me every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com for a glimpse into my adventures! Until next week, my darlings, happy dancing and stay stylish!

Love and Twirls,

Emma

Post-Show Update: Prague in Pink!

My dearest tutu-lovers!

The show was absolutely breathtaking! The audience, dressed in beautiful pink hues, made it truly feel like a dream. The lights, the music, the magical atmosphere… It was truly the perfect performance. You can see the photographs from tonight on the "Gallery" section of the blog - be sure to check it out!

After the show, I was able to share some of my favourite moments of my adventure in Prague with the lovely folks at the theatre! They gifted me a special antique, embroidered scarf. It's a beautiful souvenir to keep me warm, but more importantly, it serves as a wonderful reminder of Prague and the warmth of the community here.

You see, Prague, for me, is more than just a beautiful city. It's a celebration of life, beauty, and art in all its forms!

As the lights fade on this unforgettable night, I'm left feeling truly grateful for the power of ballet to unite people across continents and cultures.

But this adventure isn't over yet, my darlings! I still have a whole week to explore Prague, including a romantic stroll along the Charles Bridge, and maybe, just maybe, a pony ride! I can't wait to share all the fun, the fashion, and the fairytale charm with you next Wednesday!

Remember, always embrace your inner ballerina!

Stay tuned!

Love and twirls,

Emma
