Prague Dreams in Pink: Post 407

Bonjour, darlings! Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-clad ballerina, ready to whisk you away to the magical streets of Prague! As the crisp air of a Czech February tickles my nose and the melodic sounds of street musicians fill my ears, I find myself completely enthralled by the cityā€™s captivating blend of medieval charm and modern vibrancy.

Today marks my 407th post on the www.pink-tutu.com website, which, for those of you keeping track (I know you are!), is a milestone moment. It also marks exactly two weeks since I hopped aboard the Eurostar in Derby (how's that for a glamorous beginning?), with my trusty pink tutu and travel journal in tow. You see, my darlings, a ballerina's life is all about the journey - just like the dance, every destination is a step towards a beautiful finale.

Prague has already proven to be an exceptional adventure, and I wouldnā€™t miss a single moment! Let me take you back a bitā€¦

My train journey from Derby was an absolute delight. My fellow passengers were charmed by my signature pink tulle and the whimsical feather boa that added a touch of ā€œje ne sais quoi.ā€ (One gentleman even offered me a slice of his apple crumble - such sweet manners!). There's nothing quite like the rhythm of a train, like the elegant swaying of a dancer. I felt like I was performing on a grand stage, even if the ā€œaudienceā€ was just a carriage full of sleepy travellers.

Prague welcomed me with open arms ā€“ literally! The cobblestone streets were lined with vibrant flowers in shades of pinks, purples and yellows, each petal like a tiny ballerina bowing to greet the sunrise. A chorus of church bells echoed through the historic centre, their chime adding to the already enchanting atmosphere.

My charming little boutique hotel ā€“ the aptly named "The Ballerina's Dream" - felt like a ballerina's dream come true, with a pink velvet bed, delicate lace curtains, and a breathtaking view of the Charles Bridge. This morning, after a breakfast of divine Czech pastries (which I confess, I ate with my tutu on - Iā€™m not one to let a good outfit ruin a good croissant!), I took to the streets.

The cobblestones of Prague are as much a ballet stage as any theatre I've ever graced. Imagine my delight upon discovering the ā€œTutu Houseā€, a boutique bursting with vintage tutus, both classic and contemporary. (Donā€™t worry, darlings, my newest purchase, a sparkling pink sequined tutu with cascading layers of tulle, will feature in next weekā€™s blog post!)

After indulging in my tutu passion, I took a horse-drawn carriage ride. A little unorthodox perhaps for a ballerina, but when you see the magic of Prague through horse-drawn eyes, you'll understand! We ambled through charming little streets and along the banks of the Vltava River, each bump and curve turning into a waltz in my mind's eye.

Now, about that dance performance that's funding my entire journey. Prague has a lively scene of ballet and theatre performances, and Iā€™m thrilled to say I landed a slot at the esteemed "Dancing Pragueā€ company. (Did I tell you my life is basically a fairytale? The universe really is dancing to my tune.) Tonightā€™s performance will be a beautiful interpretation of ā€œSleeping Beautyā€, featuring an unforgettable "Dance of the Flowers" sequence. I can't wait!

Speaking of fairy tales, the ballet, ā€œSleeping Beautyā€ takes us to the historic ā€œThe Estates Theatreā€. I feel it is one of the most magical theatres in Europe. And let me tell you, nothing gets the creative juices flowing quite like exploring historic performance spaces. Prague is simply dripping with beauty. From baroque theatres to romantic castles, each historical gem is waiting to inspire a ballet in my heart.

Before I slip on my pointe shoes and get ready for the show, let me share some fun Prague tips with you, my little ballerinas:

  • A Tutu-ful Treat: No trip to Prague is complete without trying the famous ā€œtrdelnĆkā€, a warm, cinnamon pastry that smells like Christmas. And yes, it does look vaguely like a pink tutuā€¦ šŸ˜‰
  • Pink Shopping Paradise: Prague is a shopperā€™s paradise! If you're like me and love adding pink touches to your wardrobe, donā€™t miss the enchanting shops on "Vodičkova" street.
  • Donā€™t Miss the ā€œPink Eveningā€: The ā€œDancing Pragueā€ performance is truly a spectacle! The ā€œSleeping Beautyā€ storyline always captures my imagination. Imagine beautiful ballerinas floating across the stage in swirling tutus. To find out more information on ballet in Prague, simply search on ā€œballet in pragueā€ - thatā€™s what I did!

I hope this little journey has inspired you, my lovelies. Thereā€™s a whole world waiting to be explored with pink tutu-covered feet and a joyful spirit! Donā€™t forget, even if you donā€™t own a pink tutu, you can still embrace the spirit of joy and creativity. Spread your wings and let your imagination soar.

As always, your beloved ballerina is off to create magic. Stay tuned for more Prague adventures next Wednesday on www.pink-tutu.com. And, oh my darlings, if you see a pretty pink tutu waltzing through the streets of Prague, you can be sure it's me!

Au revoir!
