Prague: A Ballerina’s Paradise - Pink Tutu Prague Blog Post #420

Hello darlings! Emma here, back from another adventure and ready to share all the pink tutu goodness with you lovely lot. This week, I've been whisked away to the magical city of Prague, a city that feels straight out of a fairytale. And of course, my pink tutu has been my trusty companion every step of the way, as always!

Before I delve into the magical wonders of Prague, I wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all your kind words about my recent performance at the Derby Theatre. You’re so incredibly sweet to be so encouraging! I honestly think the entire audience loved the vibrant pink tulle in my final piece, it really tied the whole thing together. It was a perfect opportunity to showcase just how beautiful pink tutus can be - seriously, darling, what's life without a little pink tulle, right? 😉

Anyway, enough about my humble ballerina self. Let's get back to Prague!

Arrival in Prague and a Pink-Tastic Journey by Train

After a beautiful journey by train through the gorgeous rolling hills and picturesque villages of Europe (how romantic!), I arrived in Prague early Tuesday morning. My trusty little pink luggage case, adorned with a miniature pink tutu of course, got lots of curious looks. Perhaps they were intrigued by its inherent whimsicality or perhaps they just really appreciated the vibrant pink. Who knows! 😉

The moment I stepped onto the cobbled streets of Prague, I was overwhelmed with the sheer beauty of it all. The architecture is simply breathtaking, and every corner seems to hide another beautiful little alleyway or quaint cafe. This place is straight out of a movie! Prague really does have a sense of timeless elegance and romance - no wonder it's known as the "City of a Hundred Spires."

Pink Tutu and the Palace Gardens

You know I'm a total romantic at heart, so my first stop had to be Prague's stunning Old Town Square. It's hard not to feel the magic in this area! After an hour or so soaking it all in, I decided to explore the magical Palace Gardens. They’re bursting with vibrant flower beds and beautiful sculptures. Of course, I couldn't resist taking a few photos with my pink tutu for the blog, looking fabulous against a backdrop of historic elegance! 😉 I'm really feeling the whole fairytale vibe.

A Romantic Dinner and Discovering Hidden Gems

The evening was all about indulging in some classic Czech cuisine. After exploring the bustling markets in search of unique trinkets, I decided on a delicious, traditional meal in a charming, family-run restaurant. Their schnitzel and potato salad was simply divine! The restaurant owner even brought out a little pink rose for me! I guess even Czech restaurateurs can see how much I love the color.

After dinner, I went to wander through the old streets and came across this enchanting, little hidden shop tucked away down an alley. It was crammed full of antique ballet shoes, some dating back over a century! The shopkeeper was a retired dancer who had some wonderful tales to tell. I came away with a little vintage ballet slipper for my collection and an exciting new inspiration for a piece for the Derby Theatre’s summer season. The real gem, of course, is the inspiration! But the vintage slipper does add some chic vintage detail to my collection.

The Prague Ballet at The Estates Theatre

My ultimate goal in Prague? Well, naturally, it was to see the famous Prague Ballet in all their glory! Wednesday night's performance at the Estates Theatre (such a charming theatre - with pink seats, what's not to love?!) was exquisite. The dancers were stunning! It’s funny - they almost reminded me of how much I love wearing a pink tutu on stage.

A Bit of Shopping: Pink Tutu and the Prague Fashion Scene

Now, Prague might be known for its architectural beauty, but it has a thriving fashion scene as well. There are some wonderful boutiques on every corner, each one showcasing some beautiful unique pieces. Of course, I just had to go for a little afternoon of shopping, wouldn't you?! I found myself a lovely new pink cardigan which perfectly matches the delicate floral detailing on my newest tutu, and some charming handmade jewellery - all a perfect match for the pastel hues of my ensemble! It's not about buying everything - although I must admit the shopping scene in Prague was fabulous. The real thrill for me was finding something for the ballet and a beautiful little treat for myself.

Onwards to the Opera House and My Next Tutu Inspiration

Wednesday night wrapped up with another amazing experience – I attended the opera at the iconic Prague State Opera House. I fell in love with the breathtaking grandeur of the venue, especially those ornate balconies! Even the costumes were gorgeous! The entire evening was just enchanting and left me wanting to see more! It reminded me of the opera's in the heart of Derbyshire in the early 20th Century - just the best and the only entertainment people went to - especially those who dressed in beautiful finery. I was surrounded by a sea of gorgeous women all dressed in their most elegant attire, and let me tell you, some of the gowns were absolutely exquisite! What’s a little bit of opera glam without a little bit of pink tulle? I could absolutely picture myself performing a ballet here on that beautiful stage! That would truly be an unforgettable dream. I’ll have to find some inspiration.

Reflections on a Pink-Filled Prague

The beauty of Prague really does sweep you away! And in every magical corner, the little pink ballerina is right there to soak it all in. And believe me, I am totally in love! The beautiful architecture, the vibrant atmosphere, the amazing culture, the stunning ballet, the amazing shops - Prague has it all. If you're looking for a city break that's full of romantic charm and has some gorgeous boutiques and ballet to boot, then look no further than this fairytale city! The next blog is all about Salzburg, where the music never stops and it’s another great place to showcase a lovely pink tutu.

So until next Wednesday, darlings, remember to keep your heads high, and your tutus even higher!

With love and twirls,
