Prague, Prague, Beautiful Prague! (Blog Post #431)

Hello lovelies!

It's Wednesday again, and that means another week of fabulousness from your favourite pink-tutu-wearing travel blogger, Emma! I'm writing this from a darling little cafƩ in the heart of Prague, with a gorgeous latte (and a secret stash of macarons for later - shhh don't tell the other patrons!) And let me tell you, Prague is everything I ever dreamed it would be.

It all started with a dream, of course. A vision of myself pirouetting in the cobbled streets, my pink tutu billowing in the breeze, while a little cobbled courtyard orchestra played the most delightful polka music imaginable. And what better place to fulfil a dream than the city of Prague, known for its beauty, history, and frankly, fabulous cobblestone streets?

This trip to Prague is all about embracing my love for the ballet, my passion for pretty clothes, and the joy of simply experiencing a new and exciting place. Iā€™m so excited to share my adventures with you - there will be cobblestones, cafĆ© au lait, delicious Czech pastries, ballet history, and a whole lot of pink! (Naturally.)

A Journey by Train

The journey here was just as delightful as I'd hoped. I boarded the Eurostar at St. Pancras in London (a very fancy station, darling!) feeling like a real ballerina, of course. The train ride was just heavenly! So much room, big windows for people watching, and, for the first time on a train, someone offered to put my luggage in the overhead compartments. What a gentleman! It seems my pink tutu was the real star attraction.

Reaching Prague, we walked from the station into the Old Town Square, the sun shining through the cobblestone arches, the scent of pastries wafting from nearby shops. It was everything I had imagined and more. Pragueā€™s architecture is so romantic and captivating, and the atmosphere is filled with a palpable sense of history.

Of course, the most important stop was the Prague National Theatre, which has the most glorious Neo-Renaissance facade Iā€™ve ever seen. After checking into our hotel (I stayed in a little charming boutique place near the Old Town, so chic and adorable) it was time for a ballet lesson at the theatreā€™s renowned ballet school.

Now, darling, imagine a studio with a beautiful wooden floor, high vaulted ceilings, and the sound of classical music filling the air. Itā€™s every ballet dancerā€™s dream, isnā€™t it? And even I, a mere mortal ballerina, got to join in. The Czech dancers were so talented! Their moves were elegant and precise, their expressions captivating. I got a great workout, let me tell you. Iā€™m feeling ready to conquer any stage.

Fashion Frenzy

And speaking of the stage, letā€™s talk fashion, because that is a big part of my Prague journey. After all, you can't have a ballet trip without an extra dose of gorgeous. Pragueā€™s boutiques and department stores are overflowing with chic and vintage fashion, and Iā€™m ready to fill my suitcase with every fabulous outfit I can find!

I spent a blissful hour browsing the local boutiques near the Charles Bridge. This area is a dream come true for vintage lovers like me. I even snagged a vintage tutu with pale pink lace for a steal - perfect for an upcoming Prague performance I have lined up in a little hidden courtyard theater. It is truly delightful and utterly adorable.

Bohemian Beauty

But the real charm of Prague lies in its quaint little cafes, cozy bookstores, and charming cobblestone streets, all nestled amongst these grand historical structures. Itā€™s like stepping into a fairytale. I wandered the streets in a little pastel-pink floral dress that I found at a shop just outside of Old Town Square - a truly unique find, darling! And I took in the stunning views of the Charles Bridge, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that gracefully arches across the Vltava River. Iā€™ve been collecting souvenirs from the lovely stalls lining the bridge too - little pink porcelain horses (naturally), crystal ornaments, and hand-painted t-shirts, a gift for my friend back home in Derbyshire, who loves ballet, just like me!

My Ballet Night

This evening, though, was dedicated to ballet magic. It was time for the show! Tonight I am at the Pink Tutu Ballet Performance, and the show begins very soon. My ticket is on a little table by my chair, with my pink program and I am feeling like a little ballerina girl, all set to be swept away by the enchanting world of ballet. It was everything I ever dreamt it would be. From the soft music that began playing in the theatreā€™s pre-show music as people arrived and started filling the theatre, to the hushed, magical atmosphere when the curtain lifted on the first scene of "The Nutcracker" which is playing tonight! I have always been fond of ā€œThe Nutcrackerā€ and love the Tchaikovsky soundtrack, it's my absolute favourite. I think the story is really clever. And Iā€™ve even purchased a beautiful souvenir to take back home - a gorgeous handmade pink satin ballet shoe charm with my favourite Prague theatre inscribed on it!

### Back in the pink...

I must be going now. My show is about to begin!

But before I go....I do want to encourage all my lovely readers - it doesn't matter where you live, what age you are, what kind of life you lead, or what you look like - wear pink! It is the most wonderfully fun colour, a symbol of optimism and happiness. So put on that pink scarf, that pink top, that pink cardigan. If you can get away with it at work - wear pink to work! Why not go bold, like I do, and wear a pink tutu. Itā€™ll bring joy, guaranteed.

I hope you've enjoyed my blog post, lovelies!

I can't wait to share my next adventure with you from Prague next week. Until then, happy ballet-ing, happy fashioning, and stay pink!

Emma xoxo
