Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet-Filled Adventure in the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #435)

Hello my lovely tutu-loving readers! 🩰 It's Emma here, back from Prague and brimming with pink-tastic memories from my recent trip to this magical city! It's Wednesday, so you know what that means... It's Pink Tutu time! ✨

I have to say, Prague truly stole my heart. It's such a gorgeous city with a vibrant cultural scene, rich history, and even a hint of fairytale magic (which any self-respecting tutu enthusiast appreciates!). It was also the perfect place to explore my two biggest passions: ballet and fashion.

I took the train from Derbyshire, a long and beautiful journey, much of which I spent looking out the window, mesmerized by the countryside gliding past, sketching in my notebook (my secret weapon when travelling by train!). In the station, I always make sure I'm the epitome of pink tutu elegance - a soft, pale pink tulle dress with layers upon layers of tulle (always, always a tutu!). The combination of this and my ballerina bag (also, of course, pink) ensured I felt every inch the pink princess on this enchanting journey. 👑

Speaking of fairytale, Prague's stunning architecture feels like something out of a storybook, with its charming bridges, pastel-coloured houses, and the awe-inspiring Prague Castle. And let's not forget those beautiful cobbled streets perfect for skipping in your fanciest pink tutus. I may have had a few twirls myself, purely for artistic inspiration, of course!

And then, there's the shopping! The city is brimming with adorable vintage stores, cute boutiques, and even some incredible high-end fashion houses. I managed to find some fantastic finds that fit right into my wardrobe, especially the ones I can use with tutus. 🤫 Of course, any self-respecting Pink Tutu blogger couldn't leave without visiting the National Theatre. This truly stunning building, in a neo-renaissance style, is both architecturally beautiful and boasts a history of ballet and opera performance as old as the building itself, it is a must-visit for any ballerina.

Speaking of the theatre, that brings me to my favorite part of this trip: The National Theatre ballet performance I attended on 27th August. This special show (a piece called 'The Nightingale' by Igor Stravinsky) really stole the show (literally, since they had an impressive bird set for the final scene)! It was breathtaking! I felt every nuance of the choreography, each step was executed with such grace, precision, and power, my little ballerina heart was filled with such joy!

My Prague experience was all about embracing the spirit of ballet in every aspect: from finding tutus (pink, obviously!), to seeing captivating ballet performances, exploring the beauty of Prague’s old town, and experiencing the city's magical charm. I couldn’t help but let the elegance and grace of ballet seep into my entire trip.

I felt every step of my trip was full of a certain "je ne sais quoi" – I felt I was constantly moving like a ballerina. Walking with long, graceful steps through the cobbled streets, admiring the view from Prague's bridges, spinning with delight around every beautiful corner, even sipping on pink champagne while enjoying an al fresco lunch! (If you can’t see me doing this all with a pink tutu on, you need a stronger imagination!). ✨

Before you all go running off to grab yourselves some tutus and book a trip to Prague, I have to share a bit of insider info with my darling Pink Tutu followers:

The most important thing for any Pink Tutu trip is to always have a fabulously flamboyant ensemble! In Prague, that meant my best tutu for an elegant Parisian feel, which worked flawlessly with a beautiful soft pastel pink cotton blouse. For that classic “fairy tale” look, a stunning blush-toned chiffon dress (again, with an abundance of tulle to mimic a full, flowing tutu!) was the perfect choice for a beautiful walk across the Charles Bridge. And of course, you absolutely cannot forget a cute little pink hat and matching handbag to complete your fabulous pink ensemble!

So my dears, Prague truly is a city to embrace your inner tutu! The people are lovely, the culture is buzzing, the city is incredibly photogenic (I just know you'll want to capture all your most beautiful pink-tutu moments!), and most importantly, it has all the magic you could ever need! 💖 Don't forget to join me next Wednesday for a brand new blog post filled with more Pink Tutu Adventures!

Until next time, Emma x
