Prague, darling! Post 459 - My Pink Tutu Travels 💖🩰

Bonjour, mes amies!

It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for a fresh dose of pink-tutu-powered excitement straight from Prague! Yes, that's right, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina is waltzing through the charming cobblestone streets of this captivating city.

It’s a bit chilly this morning, but thankfully the crisp air brings with it an extra sparkle in the beautiful architecture. Prague is truly enchanting, a fairytale city with gothic spires, golden-tinged bridges, and a story waiting to unfold around every corner.

Speaking of stories, I have to share a delightful encounter with a fellow tutu enthusiast! Imagine my delight when I bumped into a woman sporting a vintage pink tutu while browsing the vibrant Old Town Square. Naturally, a pink tutu moment demands a conversation, and we chatted about everything from the allure of the dance to the best vintage tutu stores in Prague.

Prague is the epitome of “tutumania”: Everywhere you look, there’s a new dance inspiration: cobblestone streets that turn into ballets in the imagination, soaring architecture resembling dancers’ poses, and even the locals seem to move with a graceful rhythm!

Today's itinerary is jam-packed, filled with enchanting explorations. First up: a delectable Czech pastry and a cup of strong coffee in a cozy cafe - essential fuel for a busy day. And then, it’s off to Prague’s magical National Theatre, one of the most beautiful theatres I've ever seen. Today is a truly special treat: La Bohème, one of my absolute favourite operas.

And you know what’s truly delightful? Today’s the eleventh of February - International Tutu Day, darling! Yes, it’s the perfect day to indulge in all things pink and fluffy.

Oh, the delights of ballet, my dear friends! Not only am I a passionate performer but I love the history, the costume design, the music...everything! My current ballet infatuation? "La Sylphide," such delicate grace and captivating story, a true masterpiece.

Speaking of my beloved ballet, this trip's been all about combining the artistry of performance with the excitement of travel. It's truly amazing how ballet allows me to see the world - all the fabulous destinations I’ve visited have been thanks to those fantastic gigs. Whether it's a bustling city or a quiet seaside town, the love for ballet has been my trusty companion.

Travel Tips: I took the train to Prague, of course - trains always provide such a calming journey, I adore the gentle rhythmic movement and the windows to watch the landscapes whisk past. It truly lets your mind unwind, leaving room to think about upcoming ballet performances or a lovely new tutu design.

The wonderful thing about a train trip is, it also means more time to read about my two great loves - fashion and ballet. I'm always on the lookout for the most exquisite outfits, and I find such inspiration from all sorts of places: from antique tutus at vintage stores to the newest designs by London's up-and-coming fashion designers. I absolutely adore finding unique pieces, pieces that reflect the heart of every outfit!

Let me take you on a brief tutu history adventure. Tutudom has a wonderfully exciting past, from its theatrical origins, it evolved into the grand symbol of the ballet world. Think of the exquisite sparkly tulle of the late nineteenth-century "Romantic Ballet era," each twirl a glorious dance of fabric. Today, we are so lucky to see such incredible variety, from vintage ballet costumes to the designer pieces showcased at prestigious international events!

Back to Prague! I'm so looking forward to the rest of the evening's exploration of this truly unique city. Prague's magic goes beyond its stunning sights and sounds, there's also such warmth and welcoming spirit. The city truly embraces creativity and artistic expression. And my love, that’s what we all need a little bit of, don't you think?

Tomorrow's itinerary? An invigorating ballet class at a nearby studio - always vital for staying supple and graceful! And then, more delicious Czech treats (don't judge, darling, these pastries are pure joy!) followed by a visit to one of Prague's legendary antique shops, hoping for a pink-tutu gem amongst the vintage treasures.

Before I dash off to experience the enchanting world of "La Bohème," a little bit of my favourite, Pink Tutu Fashion Advice!
