Prague, Darling! - Pink Tutu Blog Post #501

Hello my lovely readers!

Itā€™s Wednesday again, and that means another exciting edition of the Pink Tutu Blog is ready for you. Today Iā€™m bursting with the joys of Prague! I mean, where else can you combine exquisite ballet with stunning architecture and delicious pastries in such a gorgeous city? My travels have led me here this week, and itā€™s a total fairytale.

First of all, letā€™s talk fashion! Oh my goodness, youā€™ve got to see the boutiques here. Prague is a wonderland of lace, silk, and shimmering fabrics. Itā€™s as though they have all the materials necessary to create the ultimate tutu ā€“ oh, and that is what Iā€™m here to do! Thereā€™s nothing I love more than finding the perfect tulle and satin, designing my own little pink wonders. Iā€™ll be sure to post some pictures of my new creations on my Instagram @PinkTutuEmma.

Now, back to Prague, which I could really lose myself in, darling. Every turn I make feels like stepping into a fairytale! The cobbled streets, the winding alleys, the gorgeous buildings, itā€™s all just so utterly enchanting. I think Pragueā€™s the perfect setting for a storybook romance, actuallyā€¦ or at least, the perfect place for a wonderful ballet performance.

Oh, talking of which! Last night, I went to the breathtaking National Theatre, a stunning example of Neo-Renaissance architecture that took my breath away. It was so beautiful I thought I was dreaming! This was the very building that my lovely grandmother ā€“ bless her soul ā€“ used to rave about as a young lady, during her grand European travels.

I'm happy to tell you my trip was truly magical, I saw the most amazing ballet performance, and the highlight for me was most definitely a beautiful performance by a visiting ballerina who absolutely blew my mind! Let's just say she did a stunning grand jetĆ© en tournant and a perfect pirouette, followed by a gorgeous arabesque penchĆ©. If she wasnā€™t already, she is certainly a future Pink Tutu darling in my book, and her style was beyond perfect!

Speaking of styleā€¦ after the show I stopped in for a hot chocolate and a warm poppy seed pastry ā€“ the absolute best thing Iā€™ve had all week! The pastry was even more exquisite than my tutus, and the perfect indulgence after a wonderful ballet. But oh darling, let me not forget to tell you about the theatre itselfā€¦ the National Theatreā€¦ it really does have to be seen to be believed! So beautiful!

Itā€™s a magnificent place, bursting with history, and it truly captures the romantic, passionate spirit of Prague.

My journey, of course, was punctuated by my trusty little travel companion ā€“ a little pink travel satchel ā€“ which never leaves my side! Full of secrets, itā€™s perfect for carrying the latest edition of "Ballet History For Beginners", plus my tiny diary full of plans for my next tutus.

Oh, I am already getting a little wistful just thinking about my return trip to Derbyshire next week, but this amazing adventure isnā€™t quite over yet.

Speaking of adventure, there's this one tiny little, oh so delicious detail Iā€™ve left outā€¦ this very week is the National Theatreā€™s annual pink tutu ball! Can you believe it? A ball dedicated to all things pink and tulle! This really is the perfect setting for my next post. You wonā€™t believe how many pink tutus I sawā€¦ everywhere! There was simply a sea of pink everywhere. It was all a bit overwhelming to be honest! I simply had to capture this fabulous scene, and trust me, the Pink Tutu Blog will be chock-a-block full of images in next weekā€™s edition.

And to top off my week, I managed to discover the most adorable vintage shop called "The Ballerinaā€™s Boutique". It had beautiful ballet-themed outfits from days gone by, from delicate velvet shoes to elegant ballet tutus, from simple yet chic pieces to eye-catching tutus. This is where I got the idea for my new tutus ā€“ Iā€™m hoping to channel some old Hollywood charm and bring a touch of ballet chic into my future designs. And to top it all off, it's all pink. What more could a girl ask for?

Oh, and I must tell you about my ride to the theatre! I had the most amazing pony-drawn carriage trip to the National Theatre last night, with a dashing driver who kept complimenting my new ā€œlovely pink tutuā€. Honestly, the streets looked so charming, the light bounced beautifully off the old stone and the horses hooves tapped out a rhythm that made the whole carriage sway along ā€“ it was the perfect beginning to my evening.

Speaking of transportation, have I told you about the delightful way I arrived in Prague? My journey from Derbyshire involved a beautiful red train ride from the old station in Chesterfield to Paris ā€“ where I indulged in a cheeky macaroon with the conductor ā€“ followed by an equally delightful train ride from Paris straight to Prague. Yes, all by train. A romantic trip that set my adventure on the right course! I can honestly say itā€™s been an extraordinary week, full of exciting sights, extraordinary smells, delicious treats and enchanting events! Oh, and donā€™t forget my missionā€¦ spreading the Pink Tutu Love around the world, one twirl at a time!

And now I must get going and enjoy this amazing city a little more.

Until next week darling, remember to live life in the pink and keep twirling.

Yours truly, Emma
