Guten Tag, darlings!
Well, here I am in Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires"! I simply had to get here, you see, for my beloved tutu history - the Prague Ballet has a history as long as my favourite satin ribbons! 🎀
Let's just say I was feeling like I'd stepped into a fairytale as the train rattled its way through the countryside towards this beautiful city. Honestly, every window frame felt like a new ballet scene unfolding, the landscapes transforming from gentle fields to dramatic peaks - my inner ballerina was doing pirouettes in my seat, the scenery twirling with each turn!
Prague has captivated me from the moment I arrived. The cobbled streets, the magnificent architecture, the colourful, bustling market squares - I can practically hear the music! My favourite shade of pink is all around - pastel gingerbread houses, rosy sunsets reflecting in the Vltava, even the delicate pink porcelain they're famed for. Prague, you're making me want to twirl!
Speaking of twirling, I've had an absolute blast at my ballet class here. What a charming little studio tucked away in a courtyard! It's definitely got that old-world charm. Think faded posters of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, ornate chandeliers with crystal teardrops, and, of course, an excellent mirror where I can check out my gorgeous pink tutu in full glory! The teacher was simply divine, with a kind of aristocratic air. We worked on some elegant Russian steps - I've already incorporated them into my signature routine!
Tutu History & High Tea!
Today was all about immersing myself in Prague's ballet history. First stop - the magnificent National Theatre. Can you believe the grandeur of this place? Its history goes way back - to 1881! That means there have been decades of graceful pirouettes and heart-stopping leaps upon these very stages! You can imagine, darling, the history seeping into every inch of these walls - a true ballet temple!
Afterwards, a little refreshment at a delightful tea room that I stumbled upon, the "Pink Flamingo". This adorable little spot was positively overflowing with frills, feathers, and - you guessed it - a lovely shade of pink! Their strawberry tart was truly heavenly, with the perfect balance of sweetness and delicate crunch, like a little ballerina herself!
Prague Opera House: The Night Will Be Magic!
This evening, the ultimate treat! Tonight I am attending the Czech National Ballet's performance of Swan Lake. You know how I feel about Tchaikovsky, darling, it's practically the soundtrack to my life! The beautiful choreography and stunning costumes - oh, I am so excited to be taking in a show in this fabulous city! The excitement is practically bursting out of my pink tutu! I might have to get another one, perhaps a dramatic black tulle number, for the occasion...
Travel Essentials & a Fashion Update
You know, I'm truly living my best life on this trip! Of course, my absolute essentials include: * A comfortable pair of ballet flats - perfect for cobblestones and those elegant waltzing strolls around Prague. * My pink tutu, darling, I never travel without it! * My collection of delicate, rose-coloured scarves - they add a touch of Parisian chic, perfect for that je ne sais quoi feel. * A stack of good novels, including a classic about ballerinas, of course! * My travel journal - every little ballerina needs to jot down those inspirational moments. * And of course, my trusty, oh-so-pretty floral phone case!
My other weakness: clothes shopping! I simply adore the beautiful boutiques here in Prague, with all their vintage elegance. Today I found the most darling pink lace dress, just begging for a twirl, and a silk shawl adorned with roses - the perfect ensemble for a dreamy evening at the theatre!
