Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Whirlwind #520
Wednesday, April 13th, 2005
Darling readers! I've been dancing across cobblestones and sipping Czech beer in the most magical city – Prague! As the first rays of sunshine kissed the spires of Prague Castle this morning, I couldn't help but feel a wave of pink-hued joy. This city has got me in a tutu twirl, and I'm ready to share all the adventures with you!
It’s all thanks to a glorious performance of “Giselle” in a grand old theatre last night that brought me to this enchanting city. You know me – a tutu twirling performance is always a sure-fire way to fund a new travel adventure.
The journey itself was pure whimsy. I started with a charming train ride from my little village in Derbyshire – you wouldn’t believe the number of friendly stares I received as I glided through the carriage in my shimmering pink tutu. Don’t judge, but I simply cannot resist travelling in a full, frilly tutu, you know, practicality and all that! Then, on arrival in Prague, a horse-drawn carriage took me to my charming little boutique hotel. Honestly, it was like stepping out of a storybook. And to top it off, the carriage was decorated with pink ribbons!
This morning, I woke up with a skip in my step (thanks to the fantastically firm bed – a ballet dancer’s delight!), and had a delicious breakfast of freshly baked croissants and fragrant coffee. Now, as I write this from a sunny cafe in the heart of Old Town, I’m gazing at the Charles Bridge – a testament to the city's stunning beauty, just like a beautiful arabesque.
I’m so inspired by the intricate details, the cobbled streets, the architecture, and the delightful charm of Prague. I’ve already planned my days around the glorious historical and artistic attractions – we’re talking ballet classes at the grand National Theatre (a MUST!), the exquisite Strahov Library, a delightful tour of the Prague Castle, and of course, an indulgent dose of shopping – vintage stores and ateliers abound! I'm hoping to find a pink Czech glass lamp to take home - just the thing to add a touch of Bohemian flair to my own little boudoir.
Oh, speaking of ballet – I’ve heard whispers of an extraordinary production of “Swan Lake” on the 17th at the Municipal House – fingers crossed for tickets! Imagine: graceful swan ballerinas in this spectacular city – chef's kiss.
This city feels like an extension of the fairy tale I’ve lived within all my life. The cobbled streets, the towering towers, the pastel houses…it's like stepping onto the set of a whimsical ballet production.
But of course, what's a ballerina's day without a little sartorial delight?
Fashion Finds in Prague
My quest for exquisite sartorial treasures started at the most darling boutique – a charming little haven on the edge of the Old Town square, aptly named “Frou-Frou.” The shop itself was like a treasure trove, crammed with beautifully handcrafted clothes, hats, and shoes - a whimsical paradise for the modern ballerina! Imagine, darling, hand-sewn corsets, feather boas, delicate vintage lace, and beautiful hats adorned with satin flowers – all vying for attention on velvet-covered shelves.
And what would a visit to Prague be without a touch of elegance? I couldn’t resist snagging a stunning hand-painted fan and a delicate silk scarf, emblazoned with a graceful swan – a little reminder of Prague's grace and elegance.
Sharing the Love for Pink Tutus
And while we’re on the subject of sartorial delights, let me share a secret ambition with you all: my ultimate dream is to see the whole world adorned in pink tutus. Can you imagine, darlings? The Eiffel Tower glittering under the Parisian sky with a flurry of pink tutu skirts? The Taj Mahal adorned with a graceful twirl of pink fabric? Oh, it’s enough to make my ballet heart leap!
But let's be practical, I can't quite convince every world landmark to wear a tutu, can I? So I've started by bringing the tutus with me on all my travels. Perhaps I can spread the pink tutu joy a little closer to home. You never know, darling, it might just inspire a new fashion movement - and what's more joyous than seeing everyone embracing a little ballerina chic?!
Coming Up Next
Prague’s enchanting whispers beckon me to its hidden nooks and crannies. Tomorrow, I'm planning to visit the Jewish Quarter, explore the charming street cafes, and indulge in the vibrant markets bursting with fresh pastries, local cheeses, and exquisite Bohemian crystal – you just have to come and see it for yourself! I'll be back next Wednesday, with more dazzling delights, romantic encounters, and, of course, the latest adventures of the pink-tutu-wearing ballerina!
Don’t forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday, darling.
Until next time!
With love and a twirl,
Emma xx
