Prague: A Ballet Lover's Paradise (Blog Post #523)
Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, and this week, I'm absolutely bursting with excitement, because I'm finally in Prague! You see, Prague has always held a special place in my heart, especially after reading about its long and rich ballet history. From the royal courts to the opulent opera houses, Prague's been swirling with tutus for centuries!
And this trip is extra special, as you know, because I'm seeing a ballet performance – and what a performance! Today, we’re in the grand and glorious National Theatre, a majestic building dating back to the 19th century, which boasts one of the most spectacular stage designs in Europe. I couldn't have asked for a more stunning backdrop to my Prague adventures!
Now, I must tell you all about this divine performance. Today was all about the classic, "The Nutcracker," a timeless favourite, filled with twirling sugar plum fairies, brave toy soldiers, and an enchanting journey to the land of the sweets. Oh, the sheer magic of ballet!
And of course, what would a ballet lover’s trip to Prague be without a bit of sightseeing? This beautiful city is a symphony of charm, with cobblestone streets lined with picturesque buildings that are simply begging to be explored. Today, I wandered through the Old Town Square, captivated by the striking architecture and the bustling atmosphere. The astronomical clock was truly breathtaking, as was the magnificent Tyn Church. My pink tutu, by the way, looked absolutely divine against the backdrop of these historical treasures!
I spent the afternoon browsing the vintage boutiques tucked away in charming side streets, finding the most incredible antique jewelry and delicate lace. These are perfect additions to any pink tutu lover’s wardrobe! Later, I had the most delicious Czech dumplings in a little café nestled in the heart of Prague. (Honestly, darling, these were the fluffiest dumplings I’ve ever tasted!) This little gem also had the cutest little courtyard garden, which felt like a scene straight out of a fairytale. And I must confess, I made it a priority to sample the local gingerbread – you can’t come to Prague without indulging!
Speaking of indulging, no trip to Prague would be complete without a visit to the Pink Flamingo Tea Rooms – a delightful spot where everything, including the cupcakes and scones, is decked out in glorious pink! Oh my! It’s definitely the kind of place that a tutu-wearing ballerina like me simply can't resist!
Speaking of pink, my dear friends, it has become more than just a colour to me. It's a feeling, a mood, an expression of joyful confidence. My pink tutu is my symbol of self-love and creative expression. Just as Prague itself is a masterpiece, I strive to spread a touch of ballet-inspired grace, fun, and happiness everywhere I go.
As I sit here with a hot chocolate (made pink with a dollop of raspberry coulis!), my heart swells with gratitude for this amazing adventure. The sheer beauty of Prague, the exhilarating ballet performances, the divine food, and of course, the exquisite pink flamingo cupcakes – it truly feels like I've stepped into a dream!
Stay tuned, my loves, as I'll be sharing even more Prague adventures next week! In the meantime, keep twirling, keep sparkling, and don’t forget to wear a pink tutu!
Until then,
Love, Emma xoxo
