Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Dream Come True! (Post #536)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu adventure! This week, I'm whisking you off to the magical city of Prague, a place that truly embodies the elegance and artistry I hold so dear. I've been dreaming of this trip for months, and after months of meticulously planning and perfecting my itinerary (I always want to make sure I squeeze in enough time for tutu shopping!), I'm finally here!

Prague is the perfect blend of fairytale charm and historic grandeur. The cobblestone streets are like something out of a dream, lined with charming cafes and buildings with colourful facades. It’s as if you stepped into a scene straight from a ballet set – the dramatic architecture is so inspiring, and the atmosphere is positively whimsical. And of course, it wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu adventure without me sharing a few fabulous sartorial finds!

I'm embracing the pink theme here, obviously, but with a slightly more bohemian twist for my Prague escapades. I found a beautiful dusky pink flowing dress that dances with every twirl, complete with a delicate floral embroidery. For evenings, I’ve got a divine pale pink sequined top, the perfect partner to a jet-black tulle skirt that shimmers under the Prague city lights – and the best part is that I can slip on my most glamorous pink tutu on top, of course!

But Prague is much more than just an aesthetically pleasing backdrop. It’s steeped in history and, as you know, history is incredibly important to me! The Old Town Square is just mesmerising - the architecture is jaw-dropping, from the towering astronomical clock to the stunning Tyn Church, each detail so wonderfully ornate, each curve and spiral an architectural masterpiece. I just have to admit, the buildings here inspired a new spin on my latest tutu creation, featuring a graceful, sweeping skirt reminiscent of those dramatic cathedral towers! I can't wait to show you all my newest design once I get back to Derbyshire!

Now, as a self-proclaimed ballet enthusiast, you already know that my itinerary couldn’t be complete without a trip to the Prague National Theatre. The beauty of it was simply breathtaking - I was captivated by the opulence, the velvet curtains, the dazzling chandeliers - truly a perfect setting for a grand performance! This historic theatre is one of Prague’s biggest draws and for good reason.

And what’s a trip to the National Theatre without a ballet performance? This week, the Czech National Ballet were performing "Giselle" and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight! From the dramatic and emotional choreography to the breathtaking costumes and captivating storytelling, the entire performance was magical. As an avid fan of the story (it’s one of my all-time favourite ballet tales!) I’d dreamed of seeing it live for ages, and I wasn't disappointed. I practically swooned as the prima ballerina danced, her movements as fluid as the flowing water in the Vltava river. I even managed to snag a glimpse of the breathtaking "withering" scene - it's hard to not get a little bit teary at the incredible emotion these ballerinas bring to the performance.

Naturally, after a night at the ballet, I just had to have a cuppa. I settled down at a sweet little cafe by the Charles Bridge, watching the sun setting over the city while enjoying a delicious hazelnut coffee. This city truly knows how to live life in style!

And then there was the shopping! My oh my, did Prague spoil me. You know I've always had a soft spot for vintage clothing, and Prague is just teeming with treasure troves! The antique shops were a delightful rabbit hole of lace collars, silk gloves and bejeweled hair clips – and some exquisite tutus. Some of them were incredibly old. And, just you wait, darling, I'll be featuring them all in my next online show!

On my first evening in Prague, I took a ride on the city’s scenic funicular up to Petřín Hill for an enchanting view of the city – truly the best place to catch a truly remarkable sunset! Of course, it would be a serious crime for me to miss a picture in my signature pink tutu whilst standing amongst the picturesque architecture of Prague! It’s been ages since I had the opportunity for such a fantastic photo op. But this view made it totally worthwhile – I just love the combination of old-world charm and my modern, vibrant tutu. And for those wondering how I get around Prague… I’ve taken a bit of a detour, shall we say? Instead of transport, I have been making my way across this wonderful city by…pony! A bit of a wild choice perhaps but truly it’s just so romantic, just perfect for a truly fairytale city. The slow pace allows me to truly drink in all of this beautiful city's charms! Don't worry, darling, my beautiful Tutu has been kept safely on the pony’s back in a waterproof, tailor-made tote!

After my funicular trip, I followed a group of dancers (they must be in a professional troupe) through a lovely, leafy park, taking me right through a charming Prague garden – and as I strolled I simply had to pick up a bunch of vibrant pink flowers for my hotel room! These Czech roses are so vibrant - their hue just screams "Pink Tutu!" They'll be going straight into my suitcase, ready to bring a touch of Prague to Derbyshire!

My travels wouldn’t be complete without a proper indulgence – a delectable sweet treat that is just as delightful to look at as it is to eat! Prague is, of course, a foodie’s paradise and there are so many fabulous little shops. And you won't believe this, darling - I even found a cafe that serves traditional Czech cakes and pastries – AND – pink-tutu themed lattes! Yes, my darling, the barista made a special creation, swirling a delightful blend of pastel pink latte foam, sprinkled with edible glitter – simply irresistible! (I just wish they had pink tutus for the chairs – I can just see it!)

It's been such a beautiful trip to Prague, a city filled with vibrant charm, a passion for the arts and…so many pretty things! And, of course, what would be a true Pink Tutu Prague experience without… a Tutu Party! This Friday evening, my new friends at the Prague National Ballet are taking me to the grandest ball – yes, the ultimate waltz! It is all going to be a pink and tulle dream come true! And let me tell you, you're going to get a first-hand peek at the photos from my adventures, and you're also going to hear ALL about the exclusive pink-tutu ball on my blog next Wednesday. Oh, it’s going to be epic!

And to add a little bit of Derbyshire to Prague, I've brought a small token to show off my Derbyshire pride! It’s an intricately-crafted silk flower brooch I picked up in Bakewell, and I’ll be wearing it to the party as my special pink-tutu twist!

Until next Wednesday, darling! Keep it pink and fabulous!

Love,
