Prague, Darling! (Post #537)

Hello my dearest Tutu-ettes! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a fresh update from your favourite pink-tutu-clad, ballet-loving blogger, Emma! This week, I've had the absolute joy of finding myself in the heart of Prague! It’s been an absolutely delightful adventure, with a pinch of magical ballet thrown in for good measure. Oh, and let's not forget the glorious shopping – I think I've found the perfect pink tulle for my next tutu!

This week has been absolutely choc-a-bloc with delightful adventures! Just yesterday, I spent a morning flitting through Prague's magical cobbled streets, mesmerised by the stunning architecture. The intricate details on the buildings just took my breath away! I can see why so many fairy tales were inspired by Prague; the city feels positively enchanted. Later that day, I had a wonderfully decadent picnic under the ancient walls of Prague Castle, tucking into the most scrumptious traditional Czech pastries, followed by a truly enchanting performance by street performers. You'd be amazed, they were even dancing in tutus! I can't remember if they were pink, but I'd like to imagine they were – a girl can dream, right?

My Ballet Journey to Prague

This time, I decided to get my pink-tutu-clad self to Prague the old fashioned way – by train, of course! The train journey through the European countryside was a delight – think stunning vistas of rolling hills, quaint villages, and an array of wildflowers, all with a backdrop of the glorious, sunny summer sky! A girl could get used to this sort of thing, don’t you think? Of course, the only problem is what to wear! But I knew I had the perfect look. My darling, dusty-rose tutu paired with a cream blouse and some pearl-encrusted flats just screams, “Travelling in Style, Emma Style!”

When I arrived, the charm of Prague just about swept me off my feet, and it definitely didn't hurt that my ballet company was already booked for an exciting performance in one of the city's most impressive theaters! Oh, what a privilege it was to grace the stage of the National Theatre, my darling pink tutu gleaming under the lights.

And talking of ballet, did I mention that this week's theme is "Ballet History"? Now, I don't know about you, my dears, but I love learning all about the stories and dances of ballet's history. Did you know that Prague boasts some pretty exciting ballet history? You've got to visit the beautiful, elegant Estates Theatre, for example, the very same place where Mozart's Figaro debuted in 1786! You might find a stray tutu hanging from the ceiling there, if you look hard enough... You can imagine me prancing in front of a group of 18th-century onlookers, my tutu billowing behind me as the music fills the air!

Tutus and Trains, The Perfect Combination!

But Prague wasn't all ballet! The shops were overflowing with charming boutiques and antique stores, and I'm sure I managed to pick up a few special items to bring home! From delicate Czech crystal and intricately hand-painted ceramic angels, to exquisite silver jewellery and a handful of luxurious face masks, I think my suitcase is practically bursting.

Did I tell you about my fabulous lunch at a quirky little cafe right in the centre of Prague? They served this beautiful beetroot soup with homemade sourdough bread that practically melted in your mouth! I indulged in a slice of the most delicate raspberry cheesecake for dessert – and don't forget, a dash of prosecco never hurts, now does it? Life is truly a beautiful ballet, isn't it? Oh, and have I told you about my wonderful pony ride in the heart of the city?! Don't you just love the unique ways we find ourselves dancing with life?

Speaking of dancing with life, my Tutu-ettes, did I tell you that this Wednesday, August 10th, is going to be an unforgettable evening for all ballet lovers?! There's a magnificent production of the beautiful Giselle at the Prague State Opera – can you imagine?! Just picture me there, seated among the velvet seats, wearing my beautiful pink tutu, as the magical tale unfolds on stage! It's just another night in a life well-lived for your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina blogger!

So my dears, I think I must conclude my blog post now - There is so much more I have to tell you, and this isn’t even half of the story, but I’ve got to pack my things! You see, I’ve already planned my next dance in this magical city: A magical evening in Old Town Square – surrounded by the sounds of Prague’s famed street musicians, all the while I twirl in my beloved tutu, of course, the lights of the famous Astronomical Clock casting a rosy glow upon my pink!

Do keep your tutus on and your hearts open to all the lovely adventures waiting around every corner. Stay in touch, my lovely Tutu-ettes, and don't forget to keep dancing your own stories!

Much love and sparkly glitter,

Emma xx
