Prague's Pink-Tutu Diaries: Post 545 🩰🌸🇨🇿

Hello lovelies!

This week's blog finds me in the magical city of Prague, where even the cobblestones seem to whisper stories of fairytale romance and grand history. I've been longing to come here for ages, and with my last performance at the Nottingham Grand Theatre proving a smashing success (thank you for the standing ovation, darling audience!), I've finally had the chance to tick Prague off my bucket list!

Train Tracks and Tutu Tales

Arriving by train, I felt like I was stepping straight into a vintage travel poster. Imagine: emerald fields blurring by as we chugged across the Czech countryside, my tulle cascading around my ankles, a feeling of sheer joyful anticipation building within me.

My trusty pink backpack, overflowing with my ballet essentials – a hand-stitched satin eye mask, a selection of my signature tutus, and my favourite book on ballet history (I am a complete bookworm, you know!) – bounced playfully against my knee.

Speaking of my love for ballet history, did you know that Prague's National Theatre is not just famous for its gorgeous architecture and amazing opera performances, but also holds a truly enchanting piece of ballet history? The building was saved from destruction by the legendary ballet dancer, Anna Pavlova! Can you believe it? Her tireless dedication to this glorious art form saved the whole building – Talk about dedication! I adore her, she's one of my idols.

Prague's Fashionable Flair

Of course, after my delightful train journey, no visit to Prague would be complete without indulging in a bit of shopping. The streets are brimming with independent boutiques and vintage shops, perfect for hunting down one-of-a-kind treasures. I found a delicate, vintage pink beaded belt that perfectly complements my tutu, and a silk scarf with a playful pattern of tiny ballet shoes. My wardrobe is overflowing with such lovely finds. I love Prague's relaxed yet fashionable atmosphere. Even the local women here look utterly chic!

Pink-Tutu Ballet in Prague!

I’m delighted to tell you about a truly divine performance I witnessed today: the "Pink-Tutu Ballet in Prague". Oh, the colour! Oh, the sheer magic! Imagine a kaleidoscope of shimmering tutus in every shade of pink imaginable – from blushing rose to fiery fuchsia – cascading across the stage like a living, breathing sunset. It was quite spectacular! The music was exquisite and the dancers were absolutely breathtaking, performing intricate steps with a lightness that seemed almost impossible. And you won’t believe this… I found out that the dance director, a young woman called Clara, is from Derbyshire, just like me! Fancy that. I found her backstage after the show – we had the most amazing chat about ballet, about fashion and about sharing our love for the artform! We are planning to put on a fabulous Pink-Tutu performance at Derbyshire's Matlock Bath next month, can't wait!

Tonight, The National Theatre Beckons!

Tonight, I'll be attending a performance at Prague’s glorious National Theatre. It's known for its breathtaking opera productions and enchanting ballets, and I can't wait to experience it myself. I’m wearing my favourite cherry blossom tutu and my lucky pink satin ballet slippers. After the performance, I'm treating myself to a traditional Czech dinner and then a moonlit walk across Charles Bridge. I imagine the bridge must be incredibly beautiful illuminated by the city's twinkling lights. This evening is bound to be pure magic.

Pink Tutu Inspirations:

Talking of pink and tutus, I came across the most adorable vintage pink tutu online the other day! I just had to order it, and I can't wait to get it. I think it will look perfect paired with a cute little polka dot dress – just the thing for a trip to a local park, or perhaps even a romantic picnic with my trusty poodle, Pepper, who of course always enjoys these outings. He may be a poodle, but he’s a real Pink-Tutu fan too!

But I'm getting ahead of myself… back to Prague. The city's atmosphere is vibrant and intoxicating, with lively street performers, bustling cafes and a gentle charm that's almost tangible. There's a story waiting to be uncovered around every corner, every cobblestone and every whimsical alleyway. It's no wonder so many creative people flock here!

A Promise For Tomorrow

Tomorrow I’m going to spend some time exploring Prague's beautiful parks and gardens. They say that the gardens surrounding the Strahov Monastery are breathtaking. Perhaps I’ll even catch some inspiration for my own pink tutu collection there. My love for tutus grows ever stronger with each new design. Who knows, perhaps one day, even Prague will be dancing in pink tutus! Imagine the sights, the colours, the joyous music! That’s the dream.

But for now, darling readers, it’s time to sign off and catch some rest. Tomorrow will bring even more wonderful adventures in this lovely city. Remember, my dears, even when you're miles from home, don't forget your Pink-Tutu spirit.

Until next week, stay fashionable and keep on twirling!

Much Love,

Emma 🌸🩰💖
