Prague Post #552: Twirling in Prague

Oh, darling readers! Another Wednesday has rolled around, and I’m so excited to share my latest adventures with you from this utterly enchanting city. This is post number 552 for the Pink Tutu Blog, and trust me, every week just gets better and better. It’s simply thrilling to share my experiences and, of course, my very pink-tinted view of the world with you.

This week, I’m absolutely bursting to tell you about my recent escapades in Prague. Now, let me tell you, this city is the perfect mix of whimsical and grand, just like me in my favourite pink tutu. It’s like stepping out of a fairytale - cobbled streets, breathtaking architecture, and oh, the history! It’s almost enough to make me forget the charming countryside of Derbyshire where I hail from, but only almost, darling. I still wouldn’t trade a trip down the Peak District on my faithful pony for anything.

This time around, I managed to wrangle a performance at the grandest ballet theatre in town. Don’t worry, it wasn’t just any old gig - it was a real, bona fide ballet gala! The audience was mesmerised, naturally. After all, a ballerina in pink is bound to draw a crowd. What can I say? I’m quite the star.

The show was magical, full of elegance, precision, and a little bit of cheeky, flirty fun, the way I like it. We were treated to excerpts from Swan Lake, Giselle, and the most wonderfully romantic choreography based on Chopin’s music. It was simply breathtaking. The costumes were exquisite – flowing tulle, dazzling gems, and oh, that divine colour, a rich crimson velvet… simply stunning. But, my darlings, let's be honest - what’s a grand ballet without the tutus? They were simply divine! So floaty and dramatic, and oh so beautifully crafted - a ballet lover’s dream!

Speaking of tutus, I had to visit the House of Ballet. Oh, it was a dream come true! Shelves upon shelves crammed with the most magnificent tutus in all shades of the rainbow, including, of course, the most exquisite selection of pinks. I may have gone slightly overboard… let’s just say that I might have treated myself to a brand new fluffy pink tulle masterpiece.

Of course, Prague isn’t just about grand ballets and majestic tutus - it’s also about the vibrant energy of the streets. Every corner seems to whisper stories of a captivating past and an exciting future. We strolled down the Old Town Square, past the historic Astronomical Clock, and took a lovely little ride on a horse-drawn carriage, just the most charming way to soak up the scenery. You could say I did fall in love with the city - it’s just so utterly romantic and picture perfect.

You’ll have to excuse the slightly hurried pace of this blog post, dear readers. We have to make the most of our time in Prague before we must bid this lovely city adieu, and I’m already missing the warm bread, creamy goulash and the divine creamy cakes. It’s hard to leave a place with such lovely food!

We’re whisking off by train this time, so hopefully there will be a delightful adventure for my beloved Instagram followers. Just imagine, picture perfect Prague station, with me, your favourite pink-tutu wearing ballerina, waltzing gracefully amongst the luggage. But enough about me, darlings - let's talk about you. Tell me about your favourite places to travel - where are you dreaming of heading to next? Don’t forget, dear readers, this little pink ballerina is all about spreading the love of ballet and, naturally, all things pink and fluffy. And as for tutus, let’s all take a leaf from Prague’s book: bold, vibrant and utterly enchanting.

Stay tuned for more adventures next Wednesday on pink-tutu.com!

Love,

Emma x
