Pink Tutu Prague: Post #566 – Where Romance Meets Rhinestones

Hello my darling tutu-loving darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink-clad ballet butterfly, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the enchanting city of Prague. As you know, my Wednesdays are dedicated to my beloved Prague blog, and I can't wait to share the magic with you. Today, we're whisking back to March 1st, 2006, for a day bursting with ballet, romance, and of course, a dash of pink!

Before I dive into the glittering details, let's paint the scene, shall we? Prague, oh Prague, the city of a thousand spires! Cobblestone streets, charming bridges, and those beautiful, impossibly colourful buildings. It's practically designed for tutus, wouldn't you agree? I found myself, naturally, swathed in my most delicate tulle creation – a soft, pastel pink confection with layers upon layers of ethereal loveliness. And let me tell you, it made quite the splash!

My day started in the most elegant way possible - with a visit to the stunning National Theatre. It's a sight to behold! Think grand arches, plush velvet seating, and ornate gold embellishments, a perfect backdrop for a world-class ballet performance. Now, the performance itself? Oh darling, it was sheer bliss! The dancers, graceful and fluid, pirouetted across the stage, a whirlwind of colour and emotion. The costumes were to die for, especially a shimmering, sapphire gown worn by the lead ballerina. It was like something out of a dream. I must confess, I almost sprouted my own wings and joined in!

But wait, the day wasn't over yet! After the theatre, I indulged in a little retail therapy in the quaint boutiques near the Old Town Square. Let me tell you, darling, Prague has some incredible vintage fashion! I snagged the most delightful cherry-red hat adorned with velvet ribbons and an old-fashioned pin. It's positively screaming for a photoshoot, don't you think?

Later that evening, my tummy rumbling for a delightful Prague delicacy, I made my way to the charming courtyard of the Café Savoy. This is the perfect place for an authentic Czech meal, think warm, homemade goulash with crusty bread, a plate of sweet Trdelník, and the tastiest plum wine. As I sat there, watching the locals stroll by, I realised something - this city is steeped in romance. The old architecture, the quaint alleyways, the soft lighting...it all comes together to create a magical ambiance that makes you feel like you're in a fairytale.

Before heading back to my cozy hotel room for a night of blissful sleep, I couldn't resist taking a moonlit stroll across the Charles Bridge. The soft, twinkling lights reflected off the Vltava River, making it seem almost magical. It was the perfect end to a perfect day in Prague.

I hope this little snippet of my Prague adventure has inspired you to add it to your travel list. Trust me, it's the perfect place for a tutu-clad adventure. Remember, darling, always embrace your inner ballerina, and always wear pink!

Until next time,

Emma xo

  • National Ballet Costumes - Emma, a ballet history aficionado, wouldn't miss the chance to get up close with the ballet costumes. Who knows, maybe she even spied on some tutus during rehearsals!

  • The Royal Albert Hall Gala - While in Prague, Emma reveals she's performed at the Royal Albert Hall! What an accomplishment! It proves that her talent and dedication are as bright as her love of ballet and, of course, those pink tutus!

A Fashionista in Prague!

Emma finds herself right at home amidst the charming boutiques in Old Town, unearthing those fabulous vintage pieces, with the cherry-red hat with its lovely velvet ribbon taking centre stage! The outfit and a splash of pink – it's all coming together beautifully!

  • The Pink Tutu! - The key piece for any of Emma's adventures - a fluffy confection of layers and soft, pastel pink tulle. It's like the essence of ballet magic wrapped up in one fabulous package. The pink tutu, the fashion queen, the ballet dancer - they are one!

Romance & A Touch of Prague!
