Prague: Pink Tutus & Bohemian Dreams - Post #567

Hello, darling tutu-lovers! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, and this week, I’m writing to you from the magical city of Prague! This enchanting city, with its cobblestone streets and fairytale architecture, has completely stolen my heart.

I arrived on a glorious spring day, the sunshine turning the spires of the Charles Bridge into glittering gold. I felt like I had stepped straight out of a fairytale! Of course, I’d done my research beforehand – it’s crucial for a ballet fanatic to know about the ballet history of any destination. I found out Prague has a rich tradition, with its National Theatre holding a prestigious ballet company, and plenty of beautiful old buildings used as ballet schools for centuries.

As usual, I travelled by train. I do love the comfort and luxury of a long train journey – it's such a graceful way to travel! The gentle swaying, the plush seats, and of course, the endless opportunity for people-watching.

Speaking of grace, my train was actually drawn by a pony! You see, there's this amazing little local train line that travels through a tiny, breathtaking, countryside, and they use pony power. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures for Instagram – my followers were thrilled! Imagine the scene – a bright pink tutu against a backdrop of green meadows and a fluffy white pony! I was channeling the fairytale of it all, right down to the beautiful polka-dotted frock I had chosen for the journey.

Now, you know me, I always love a good bit of ballet-related shopping, and Prague hasn't disappointed! I found this amazing boutique nestled in a charming, tucked-away corner, just brimming with the most delightful pink tutus! Honestly, I couldn't leave without buying a new one. I even found a vintage tulle cape, adorned with tiny pearl beads - absolutely perfect for my evening show.

I mentioned evening show? Well, today, March 8th, I have a treat lined up. The National Theatre is putting on an exclusive performance of The Sleeping Beauty. Yes! I can’t wait! It's my all-time favourite ballet - who doesn’t love a good fairytale?

I've also discovered that tonight, they have a special “Dress As Your Favourite Princess” night at the theatre. This was destiny! Obviously, I’m going to channel my inner Aurora – I think I have just the tutu!

Speaking of Princess Aurora, can you imagine if I persuaded her to wear a pink tutu? I bet it would be magical. She’d look simply divine! Oh, the dream is starting to grow…imagine the pink tutu craze spreading across every fairytale. What an inspiring thought! I’ve always felt strongly that every ballerina, everywhere, deserves to twirl in a glorious pink tutu, no matter if it’s a ballet class, a theatrical performance or simply an afternoon stroll around the city.

After the show, I plan on venturing to Old Town Square. I’ve heard about a captivating street ballet performance featuring a troupe of charming street dancers with colourful tutus! And of course, a street ballet performance always attracts the best fashion – Prague seems to be overflowing with style! Imagine! It’s my dream to witness an entire city in beautiful, stylish attire! Maybe with some help, we can even create a flash mob for the final scene – wouldn't that be amazing? It would certainly be an exciting sight for everyone!

I’ll be sure to share all my adventures from the magical streets of Prague. Keep an eye on my blog, www.pink-tutu.com, every Wednesday at 5 pm, for my new post about my latest exploits and outfit inspiration.

But before I go, my dear tutu lovers, I need your help. Do you have any advice for finding the best fashion boutiques in Prague? Or any ideas for the ultimate pink tutu street performance?

Please, send me your thoughts and tips – you know, like I always say: Sharing is caring!

And remember: Never forget your pink tutu!

Yours in Tutus and Travels, Emma.
