Prague: A Pink Tutu Wonderland! (Blog Post #569)

Hello my gorgeous ballet bunnies! It’s Emma here, bringing you another installment from the Pink Tutu Diaries – and this time, we’re in the enchanting city of Prague!

The train journey was absolutely divine – a leisurely ride through the countryside, passing fields of golden wheat and picturesque villages. The windows of the carriage were open, letting in the fresh spring air, and I couldn’t resist having a little impromptu dance in my seat! You see, I believe every journey, no matter how long, is an opportunity to embrace the magic of ballet, even if it’s just a few graceful twirls in the aisle.

Speaking of grace, my travelling companions for this leg of the journey were my faithful four-legged friends: Pip and Squeak! Yes, you heard right – I brought my miniature ponies with me! They travelled in style, of course, in their very own bespoke pink trailer. (What, you thought I would leave them at home? Nuh-uh, those adorable ponies are my constant travel companions. We’re a pink tutu-wearing ballerina and her pet ponies, ready to conquer the world, one graceful gallop at a time.)

Now, as you all know, Prague is a city steeped in history and elegance. The architecture is just breathtaking – those towering spires and intricate details, the cobblestone streets, the quaint little cafes tucked away in hidden corners, the whole city feels like a storybook. And what better way to experience the heart of this magnificent city than to twirl my way through its charming squares?

I confess, the first thing I did upon arriving was to locate the nearest ballet shop, where I purchased a most exquisite pink tutu, adorned with delicate lace and silver embellishments. Naturally, Pip and Squeak were thrilled with the new addition to my tutu collection! They know a glamorous girl needs to have a vast and ever-growing selection.

Oh, my darling ballet bunnies, Prague has absolutely stolen my heart! The sheer energy of this city is just electrifying, and I’ve been enjoying it immensely. The evenings are a delight; strolling through the illuminated streets, listening to the music echoing from cafes and street performers, savouring the vibrant atmosphere, and soaking up all that Prague has to offer.

I couldn't resist adding a touch of pink tutu magic to the streets myself! On Tuesday evening, I had the absolute pleasure of performing a special street ballet routine – think graceful twirls, leaps, and pirouettes, all set against the backdrop of the Charles Bridge. The locals were delighted! Several even stopped to take pictures, and I was showered with applause! It's just the perfect reminder that you can bring joy to others wherever you go, especially when you’re rocking a fabulous pink tutu!

But hold on to your pink tutus, darling ballet bunnies! Because there’s more to come! Tomorrow evening, I have tickets to a ballet performance at the National Theatre – one of Prague's most renowned theaters, known for its grand design and beautiful performances.

My little heart is fluttering with excitement, just picturing the dazzling costumes, the intricate choreography, and the powerful emotions that a ballet can evoke! I can't wait to see what masterpiece they have in store! I'll be sure to tell you all about it in my next blog post.

Speaking of my next blog post, it wouldn’t be right if I didn't take a moment to appreciate all the ballet wonders I've seen so far in Prague. It seems every corner I turn, every street I explore, there's something related to ballet, something that sparks a bit of ballerina magic.

First, the Czech National Ballet – a treasure trove of talented dancers who dedicate their lives to the art of ballet. Their website is an absolute treasure chest, brimming with information about their upcoming performances, a sneak peek into their archives, and even some behind-the-scenes glimpses into their rehearsals! It’s a ballerina's dream come true!

But my fascination with ballet doesn't stop at performances and studios, no, it extends even to fashion! Oh, the wondrous ballet-inspired clothing shops here in Prague! I spent an entire afternoon browsing through the boutiques, admiring the gorgeous tutus, leotards, and ballet shoes – so much delicate fabric and exquisite detailing. The inspiration was simply flowing, making my creative spirit soar! I can already imagine the stunning outfit ideas I will be adding to my next Pink Tutu Diaries post!

And how about this for an extraordinary discovery: while shopping for new tutus, I found the most amazing vintage ballet books! Each one is a little treasure chest, filled with tales of legendary dancers and fascinating historical accounts of ballet’s evolution. From the grandeur of the Royal Ballet in England to the dazzling performances in Paris, these books reveal a hidden world of beauty and artistry.

Of course, what's a ballet lover to do but indulge in some ballet-themed delicacies, right? And let me tell you, the cakes here in Prague are beyond delightful! I've had a slice of the most beautiful raspberry cheesecake, topped with whipped cream and fresh berries. My, it was absolutely heavenly!

It’s a truly incredible feeling to be surrounded by so much beauty and history – this incredible city seems to radiate creativity, and the feeling of artistic inspiration flows through the air! I can't wait to share even more of Prague's magical ballet experiences with you. I hope you’re all feeling inspired to put on your own pink tutus and twirl to the beat of your own drum!

Until next week, darling ballet bunnies! Stay tuned for my next blog post from Prague – I'm sure there are even more surprises in store!

With love and twirls, Emma
