Prague, Oh Prague! (Post #580)

Hello lovelies! Itā€™s Emma, your favourite pink tutu wearing ballerina, back from the enchanting streets of Prague! As you all know, I adore travelling by train, and this journey was no exception. Whizzing through the countryside, with my trusty little notebook in hand, I dreamt of all the wonderful things I'd see and do. This time, however, my journey wasn't just about ballet. No, darling, Prague is a whole new world of glamour!

Before I even arrived at the hotel, I found myself wandering through the cobbled streets, feeling like a princess in a fairytale. The colours are incredible! A vibrant, magical, pink-infused world, if you will! And the architecture? Letā€™s just say, I'm adding Prague to my list of "Places I Must Live In" for its incredible design and charm.

Speaking of design, dear readers, let's talk fashion! Prague's shops are simply divine, bursting with treasures from bohemian chic to traditional European elegance. I managed to find the perfect little pink floral embroidered bag - the cutest! It adds the perfect pop of colour to my pink tutu ensemble, donā€™t you think?

A Tutusque Fashion History Tour

But Prague isn't just about shopping! No, darling, itā€™s a city steeped in history and artistic beauty, which is perfect for a tutu-loving ballerina like myself. My first stop was the breathtaking Old Town Square, where history comes alive! Weā€™re talking cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, and the iconic astronomical clock, that just so happens to house the world's most beautiful cuckoo bird (just between you and me)!

However, what really excited me were the tales I heard about the ballet history of Prague. Imagine this: The first documented ballet performance here was in 1581, starring the nobility! And during the 18th century, Prague became a ballet powerhouse. So, for a tutu-wearing history buff like me, Prague is basically ballet heaven.

Oh, To See the Shows!

The highlight of my trip? Definitely attending the National Theatre ballet. Imagine a world-class ballet company, a spectacular production of "Giselle," and my oh my, the dancing! I could watch it all over again.

To top it off, I discovered a hidden gem: the historic Estates Theatre. Not only is it a beautiful building, but they put on an amazing ballet production of "The Nutcracker". Oh darling, you canā€™t imagine the incredible costumes and the talented dancers! My love of ballet grows with each and every performance I see!

But darling, my visit to Prague was about more than just shows! Itā€™s the feeling of getting lost in the city, soaking up its magical vibe. There's a lightness and joy in the air here, that I truly loved.

Ballet-Inspired Delights

As you all know, my tummy loves good food. Well, I am so glad to say that Prague has a delicious abundance of delightful meals.

But for the love of tutus, I have to mention the stunning cake I devoured at a small, intimate cafe tucked away down a side street. It was a delicate little pink creation, with an intricate swirl of floral icing that made me think of my favorite pink ballet shoes. Of course, it tasted just as heavenly as it looked. It really reminded me that ballet and food are both about celebrating beauty, whether itā€™s a well-executed pirouette or a meticulously designed cake.

Pink Tutu Prague Diaries (A Recap of My Week)

Now, I'm sure youā€™re dying to know more about my everyday adventures in Prague! Well, lucky for you, dear readers, Iā€™m here to spill the tea (pink tutu themed tea, of course!):

  • Monday: I arrived at Pragueā€™s magnificent train station, a glorious structure fit for a princess, darling. With my pink tutu-filled suitcase in hand, I was ready to conquer this beautiful city. After settling into my charming hotel, it was time to start exploring, which included, of course, shopping! And I found the most amazing, oversized, rose gold hair clip. A must have for my pink tutu hair doā€™s.

  • Tuesday: Pragueā€™s streets were just as inviting as I had hoped. So, I spent the day taking it all in, a tutu-twirling fashionista in a city filled with beauty! And as the sun started to set, casting an enchanting golden glow on Prague, I decided to venture into the mysterious maze of streets. What did I find, darling? Oh, youā€™ll never believe this! The cutest pink tutu shop, tucked away in an old town alley. Of course, I couldnā€™t leave without purchasing another amazing, pink-infused creation!

  • Wednesday: It was time for my main attraction. Pragueā€™s National Theatre ballet was a glorious experience! From the grand and stately interior to the incredible, emotional, storytelling of "Giselle,ā€ I was in awe! I sat on the edge of my seat as the dancers danced their way into my heart. After the ballet, it was time to let loose and celebrate the experience! My go-to celebration place is the most delicious and luxurious champagne bar ā€“ The French Kiss! The pink champagne there was simply heavenly! It was like a celebration for my own ballet career in my mind!

  • Thursday: The balletā€™s influence on Prague continues! I toured a gorgeous, beautiful, ancient castle. Every wall, every staircase, it felt as though dancers had twirled across the surfaces centuries before! The intricate decorations were like intricate movements of a grand ballet.

  • Friday: It was time for more ballet. This time it was the historic Estates Theatre. Their Nutcracker production is simply superb. From the charming opening sequence, to the dazzling dance battles, I was truly amazed by their production and their dancersā€™ exceptional talent. You see, darling, thatā€™s what I live for: that magic you can only feel in a well-made ballet.

  • Saturday: Of course, no trip is complete without visiting a proper spa. The scent of lavender in the air, the soothing treatments, and my very own pink tutu robeā€¦ what more could I possibly need to unwind? My spa experience really had me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated!

  • Sunday: Oh darling, Prague is not a city for rest! After all, thereā€™s still shopping to do! I picked up a stunning set of Bohemian pink earrings and a gorgeous pair of vintage shoes in pink, of course! I donā€™t think I can wear enough pink on my trip. And this city is certainly going to give me every opportunity!

A Pink Tutu Pledge

This week has been a pure joy! Itā€™s made me realize, even more than before, that life is simply about pursuing happiness and sharing joy. And darling, you know my biggest wish is to see every person wearing a pink tutu at least once. I am dedicated to encouraging everyone to embrace the joy and the confidence of a tutu. So next time you're looking for a way to embrace the feminine and dance with a little bit of whimsy, I implore you, put on a pink tutu, and embrace your inner ballerina. The world will be a better, pinker place for it!

I canā€™t wait to tell you all about my next adventure, so stay tuned to my website! See you next Wednesday for the next instalment of my pink-tutu travels!

Until next week!
Emma
