Prague: Where The Pink Tutu Goes... #581
Bonjour mes chéries! Welcome to another fabulous installment of my Pink Tutu travels! Today I'm bringing you all the enchanting pinkness from the beautiful, magical city of Prague, where my tutu and I have been waltzing through the cobblestone streets and taking in all the cultural delights.
I’ve been in Prague for just over a week now and it’s been a whirlwind of beautiful buildings, charming cafés and delicious pastries! Honestly, the streets of Prague are straight out of a fairytale, and let’s be honest, fairytales are just so very pink, don't you think? I've already filled my wardrobe with gorgeous pink blouses, a fluffy pink cardigan (it gets surprisingly chilly here at night) and even a fabulous pink parasol!
Speaking of wardrobe, I have to show you my newest purchase – a stunningly romantic pink tutu! Yes, you read that right, a new pink tutu! It's a whimsical, frothy tulle masterpiece, adorned with delicate sequins that sparkle like fairy dust in the Czech sunshine. Let's just say, it was a definite love at first sight! It has this incredibly romantic, vintage charm, like it stepped straight out of a classic ballet film!
But enough about me, darling! Prague itself is the star of the show here. Did you know, Prague has a rich ballet history? Did you know they have over a dozen ballet schools, countless professional companies and countless historic venues? The very first professional ballet company was founded here in the mid 19th century! It’s just been bursting with ballet energy ever since, just like me! You could say that a pink tutu is as much at home here as it is on stage!
I'm already feeling quite at home here too – not least thanks to the train journey that brought me here! Nothing makes me feel quite as utterly girly as a long train journey – there’s just something about watching the landscape fly by that’s pure romantic escapism!
This past week has been a blur of glorious sights. We (I say we, as I wouldn’t be here without the very reliable support of my faithful pink luggage!) took a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic Old Town square, marvelled at the stunning Prague Castle and had the most delicious ice cream I’ve ever tasted (they actually have pink pistachio ice cream here, and oh my! The world stopped for a minute. Just like me!) Oh, and I’ve managed to fit in a visit to a couple of antique shops, finding some real pink-tastic treasures to bring home with me! It’s honestly like living in a pink dream come true!
And talking of dreams, the real highlight of my week has been the ballet. You see, it's just as important to indulge in a beautiful performance as it is to look fantastic while enjoying it!
Oh, and what an utterly magical evening it was…
Tonight’s performance was truly magical! I watched a breathtaking show at the National Theatre – the stunning “Sleeping Beauty,” directed by a talented Czech choreographer, featuring a cast of incredible dancers. The costumes were utterly divine – think layers of tulle, glistening diamonds, and delicate, glittering feathers, oh my goodness, I was so entranced! I particularly loved the ethereal “Pink Kingdom,” a dance sequence where delicate pink petals literally seemed to float through the air.
Let’s just say I went with a vision in my mind for the perfect evening – and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I’m wearing my new pink tutu, obviously, and a gorgeous pair of pearl earrings, my grandmother’s antique pearl bracelet and a sparkling pink silk shawl to make the most of it! My love for ballet and a beautiful pink tutu has meant I've even become quite a fashionable lady too!
Honestly, watching “Sleeping Beauty” just brought back such happy childhood memories. It truly was an experience to be savoured, a perfect example of why Prague has captured my heart and soul! I spent a delightful few minutes chatting to one of the ballet dancers afterward. What a charming lady – and just think – she has so many gorgeous pink tutu-related stories to tell!
The magical city of Prague certainly has something to offer everyone – especially those of us who love to live our lives in a flurry of pink frills, a sprinkling of stardust, and a hint of romance. I feel so very grateful that my life's work brings me to beautiful cities all over the world! It really is the best way to live – I don't think I would be anywhere else in the world right now!
I promise you’ll be hearing much more from this Pink Tutu Prague journal! Don't forget, I’m updating this space weekly on Wednesdays - and, of course, I'd absolutely love to hear all your thoughts and comments on my blog! Have you been to Prague? If so, what are your favourite places to visit?
And darling, don't forget, my absolute biggest aim in life is to get everyone in a pink tutu!
Do spread the word - you can never have too much pink, or too many tutus!
Au revoir, mes chéries!
