Prague, My Dearest, Youāve Stolen My Heart (and My Wardrobe) š©°āØ
Post #593
Oh, darlings! Itās Wednesday again, which means itās time for another installment of my Prague adventures on www.pink-tutu.com. This week has been a whirlwind of charming cobblestone streets, decadent pastries, and, of course, breathtaking ballet.
As you know, I'm currently touring Europe with my trusty travel companion - my trusty pink tutu! This week, I've been indulging my love of history by soaking up the medieval majesty of Prague. From the grand, gothic Prague Castle to the charming Charles Bridge, every corner seems to whisper tales of emperors, queens, and captivating romances.
But letās face it, darlings, thereās more to Prague than just history (although, who could deny the allure of the magnificent Charles Bridge? Just ask my camera roll - I have about a thousand photos of it already!). The real star of the show is the vibrant, eclectic soul of this city. Itās like stepping into a storybook with every quaint cafe, bustling marketplace, and enchanting corner you discover.
This city is a feast for the senses - the aromas of cinnamon, coffee, and roasted nuts wafting from street vendors; the enchanting music filling the squares, and, of course, the most divine street food, like the succulent ātrdelnĆkā (think sugar-dusted doughy pastries that just melt in your mouth!).
*A Pink-Tutu Prague, Part Two: Ballet Heaven *
My darling readers, prepare yourselves for a tale of dance that will surely send shivers down your spine. Last night, I had the honour of attending a performance at the beautiful National Theatre in Prague. A fitting venue for such a divine display of grace and artistry, wouldnāt you say?
I must confess, the show was simply stunning. It was a magical combination of classic Czech dance and traditional European ballet techniques. As I sat there, my pink tutu gleaming beneath the opulent chandelier of the theatre, I was transported to a world of wonder and elegance. The dancers, each a perfect blend of grace and power, simply glided across the stage. The costumes were like living works of art ā dazzling with their exquisite embroidery and sparkling jewels. And let's not forget the music! It swept me away with its powerful, heart-wrenching melodies, evoking every emotion imaginable.
This is what makes my journey so special, darling. Not just seeing the sights, but experiencing the heart and soul of each destination through its culture and its people. And there is nothing that touches my soul quite like a beautifully-executed ballet performance. It makes my heart soar!
On This Day in Pink Tutu History...
I know you are all dying to know what ballet is on in Prague today! And I will tell you! Today, I'm getting my dance fix with a little bit of "Sleeping Beauty" magic, but not in the usual fairytale setting! Itās being performed outdoors in one of Prague's most picturesque squares, surrounded by quaint shops and cafes, which are already brimming with people who've heard of the event. This truly is my perfect Wednesday: dancing in the sunshine with other beautiful souls! I've been trying to learn all about the history of tutus. Iāve found out that the style of ballet tutu that most people think of when they think of ballet - the āromanticā or āshortā tutu - was introduced during the time that "Sleeping Beauty" was originally premiered! This is a big day in pink-tutu history and the universe is calling me to celebrate, wouldn't you say?
The Prague Style and My Personal Pink-Tutu Collection
But darling, don't think for a moment that I'm forgetting about my most cherished pastime ā fashion! Prague is a true gem for any fashionista. Every little street and alley is a haven for hidden boutiques and designer shops, each overflowing with treasures begging to be discovered. Prague has been an absolute treat, as they have an impeccable sense of style here. Iāve picked up several exquisite additions for my ever-expanding wardrobe - I just couldnāt resist the stunning lace blouses and flowing maxi-skirts with delicate embellishments! My Prague wardrobe has even inspired some new tutu creations which I am simply bursting to share with you all soon - keep an eye out on www.pink-tutu.com.
However, my greatest find (besides that incredible shop with hand-made ballerina tutus!), was the beautiful local designer I met on a charming street. She created this divine, bespoke pink tutu for me using the most gorgeous lace I've ever seen, featuring delicate pearls and pink velvet ribbon ā an absolute dream come true! It's going to be the perfect companion for all my upcoming performances and glamorous explorations. I must take you all there and you can find out what the designers and craftspeople in this wonderful city can do with fabric and fabric flowers, with pink ribbons, with tulle and all things feminine, and it will set your heart aflame - as it has done to mine!
Iām so excited for this weekend as well. I've been dreaming about a weekend in Prague, ever since I saw it on that travel program on television when I was 15, with all the castle views and cobblestone streets and historic cafes. I am going to have a leisurely breakfast by the river, take a stroll through one of the gardens with a book (although I do have some ballet book reading planned, it would be remiss to have a holiday in a foreign land without enjoying its literary culture - and this book is, of course, in pink!). Then it will be back to the ballet for me in the evening! I really do hope to have a picnic at PetÅĆn Hill, one day. I hear it is spectacular from that vantage point at the top!
Until next week, darlings, stay fabulous and keep shining in your own, personal, tutus.
Yours in tulle,
Emma x
