Pink Tutu Prague: Post #627 - May 2nd 2007 - Ballet Dreams & Prague's Charms ๐ฉฐ๐๐จ๐ฟ
Hello my darling dears! Emma here, back from a whirlwind of tutus and train rides, ready to share all the pink-tastic delights of Prague with you!
As you know, Wednesday is my day for www.pink-tutu.com - that's where I take you on a journey through my life in tutus and travel! Today, it's all about Prague! This beautiful city just captivated me, with its cobblestone streets, enchanting architecture, and of course, the incredible ballet scene!
Prague - Where History Meets Tutu Magic
Stepping off the train at Prague's grand Central Station felt like stepping into a fairytale. I felt like I'd just arrived in a timeless city steeped in history. It's not just the amazing old buildings and churches, it's also the spirit of this place - so artistic, romantic, and a bit mischievous!
Prague itself is a true ballet dancer! Imagine this, dear readers: its graceful bridges are like elegant legs reaching over the Vltava river, its towering spires reminiscent of graceful limbs reaching towards the sky, and its charming cafes? Why, those are perfect pit-stops for a quick bite between ballet rehearsals! ๐
The Ballet Delights
Let's talk about the real reason for my visit, though, my lovelies: the ballet! Prague is bursting with talent and passion for the art, and I had a simply delightful week immersed in the local scene!
This week, the ballet calendar offered up a smorgasbord of treats. On Monday, I saw an exceptional rendition of Tchaikovskyโs "Swan Lake" at the National Theatre. The beauty of the dancers, their mastery of the art, and the sheer spectacle of the production was breathtaking. I was utterly spellbound!
I found a local dance studio, "Tanec Prague," offering adult classes in ballet, and guess what? I took a class myself! I felt so welcomed and they embraced my passion for tutus, with their stunning, colourful selection of leotards and tights - and the instructors, my word! So encouraging and lovely, we even shared a lovely Czech beer and tutti frutti ice cream after class! ๐จ
But that wasn't all! There was a truly special treat on Friday at the Old Town Square. A ballet performance right there in the middle of the bustling marketplace! The choreography was vibrant, the costumes bold, and the energy infectious. You can imagine me - right in the front row, with my pink tutu, beaming at every twirl!
Shopping Spree & Pink Discoveries
Oh, I must tell you about my Prague shopping escapades. Think vintage lace, hand-painted fabrics, and oh so many exquisite fabrics, it was heavenly. I discovered a little shop tucked away in the Old Town called "Lilac and Lace," and there, amongst the exquisite treasures, I found this delightful pink floral lace - perfect for adding some extra flair to my tutu collection, don't you think?
A Farewell To Prague, & The Call Of The Tutus
Saying goodbye to Prague was like saying goodbye to an old friend. I already know that this enchanting city will remain etched in my memory forever.
Back to Derbyshire now, my lovelies. A whirlwind of ballet classes, new tutu creations, and spreading the joy of tutus awaits. Next week, my adventures continue.
Until next time, remember, always believe in the magic of pink, the wonder of ballet, and most importantly, embrace the fun of a twirling life!
Much love,
Emma
P.S. Have you ever tried Czech beer with a slice of grapefruit in it? I find it utterly refreshing after a ballet performance, wouldn't you agree?
