Pink Tutu Prague - Post #640: Dancing in the City of a Hundred Spires!
Hello my dearest tutu-lovers! It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means? It's time for a brand new blog post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina! I'm currently nestled in the magical city of Prague, which, honestly, is practically begging to be twirled around in a tulle masterpiece!
This week has been absolutely jam-packed, filled with all the ballet and fashion delights a girl could wish for! Itâs truly hard to keep up with everything, but rest assured, I'm bringing you all the gossip, from my explorations of Prague's breathtaking ballet scene to my (quite possibly obsessive) quest to find the perfect pink tutu in every single city I visit!
First, let's talk about my arrival, shall we? Ahem, it wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu travel diary without a little glamour, so of course, I took the train from Vienna! The train ride itself was such a charming experience, gliding past sprawling vineyards and picturesque towns. I even managed to catch a glimpse of a dashing young chap in a beautifully tailored suitâsigh! (Who knows, maybe he'll make an appearance in a future blog post!)
Arriving in Prague was like stepping into a fairytale. The architecture, oh my goodness, it's just breathtaking! Every cobbled street and ancient tower whispered stories of emperors, royalty, and...tutus! (Well, probably not the tutus, but you never know, do you? đ)
I checked into the most delightful little boutique hotel, where the staff practically worshipped my pink tutu. They treated me like royalty, offering a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and a bouquet of fresh roses! Naturally, I changed into a flowing silk nightgown with my trusty pink tutu layered underneathâone must never sacrifice comfort, darling!
And what does one do when they arrive in a city famous for its rich ballet history? Well, one checks the schedules of every single ballet school, of course! My research revealed that on August 1st, the National Theatre was hosting a spectacular gala performance celebrating their latest production of âLa Bayadere.â Oh, darling, it was simply exquisite!
From the grand entrance to the beautifully curated program, it was a pure delight! I loved the artistry of the costumes and the delicate flourishes of the dancersâit truly evoked the romance and beauty of India. The energy of the performance was infectious, and I practically felt the stories woven into the dance swirl around me!
Of course, after a performance that captivating, my pink tutu demanded a celebratory outfit change! I couldn't resist venturing out into the city, embracing the buzzing energy of Pragueâs Old Town.
The heart of the city pulsated with street musicians, colourful market stalls brimming with intricate trinkets and, naturally, adorable little boutiques that just screamed for me to waltz in! I must confess, darling, my weakness for beautiful pink hues was utterly exploitedâhow could I resist a delightful handmade pink leather handbag? (Just you wait till I post a pic on Instagram!)
And speaking of shopping adventures, I did, naturally, venture to Prague's most exclusive ballet supply shops. Iâm not quite ready to unveil my latest discoveriesâI have to give my tutu some time to adjust to the new surroundings and all.
Let's just say, a certain pale pink silk and delicate pearl-embellished design have captured my attentionâit simply begs for a grand ballroom debut, wouldn't you say?
So, dear tutu-lovers, my Prague adventures are only just beginning! I've already started plotting a whirlwind journey through its incredible ballet history museums and hidden performance spaces.
Stay tuned, darling! You know the saying, âA ballerina's life is never dull.â Oh, and if you're planning a trip to Prague, do be sure to visit the Charles Bridge, itâs absolutely exquisite!
And as always, I adore receiving your comments and hearing about your tutu experiences, so feel free to leave a little message! Now, excuse me, I think it's time for a glass of sparkling wine and a little waltz to the city lightsâbecause life, as they say, is just too short for a plain white tutu, wouldn't you agree?
Until next Wednesday,
Love, Emma x

So naturally, on my visit to this esteemed establishment, I couldnât resist adding a touch of my signature pink-tutu flair! After a whirlwind tour of the historical halls, I decided to surprise the school's principal with a small pink tutu charm for her lucky horseshoe. I hope she loves it!
Pragueâs Hidden TreasuresWhile exploring the city's tucked-away corners, I discovered a charming vintage bookstore nestled right underneath Prague's astronomical clock. Now, I'm no stranger to vintage finds, but this place truly stole my heart!
I discovered a first edition of âThe Nutcrackerâ illustrated by the one and only Arthur Rackham. Not only was it absolutely stunning, but the vintage cover just whispered forgotten stories of ballet's golden era.
This bookstore will definitely become a regular pit-stop on my Prague adventuresâespecially as it offers a delightful afternoon tea and delicious pastries, which are an absolute must when on the hunt for unique tutu inspiration!
