Prague: Tutu Dreams in a Fairytale City! (Blog Post #645)

Hello lovelies! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Prague, a city that's simply brimming with fairytale charm! And guess what? It even fits my pink tutu perfectly! This week, I'm sharing all the magical details from my visit. So, grab a cuppa, snuggle into your favourite armchair, and let's step into the wonderful world of Prague through the lens of a pink tutu!

The Train Journey: A Pink Tutu Adventure Begins!

Prague has always held a special place in my heart – a magical city steeped in history and beauty. This trip, however, had a unique flavour: my journey started with a train adventure! There's just something about travelling by train, isn't there? It's the perfect opportunity to get lost in a book, admire the landscapes whizzing by, and maybe even sneak in a quick ballet practice. (My tutu certainly attracted some admiring glances on the train – those Europeans are certainly up with the latest trends!).

Prague, a City of Whimsy

Stepping off the train in Prague felt like stepping into a storybook! Cobbled streets winding their way past grand castles and charming, colourful houses, all dusted with the soft golden glow of a setting sun. Even the air smelled of fairy tales! I couldn’t wait to explore.

A Little Ballet History

As a tutu enthusiast, my first stop had to be the National Theatre. It’s one of Prague’s most iconic landmarks, a breathtaking example of 19th-century architecture, and a renowned ballet stage! The history of ballet in Prague is truly fascinating, dating back centuries. And did you know? Prague was the birthplace of the renowned ballet dancer and choreographer, Anna Pavlova! I even managed to sneak in a peek at a ballet class, where a group of aspiring ballerinas practiced with the same dedication and passion I felt for the artform.

A Tutu Tour Through the Old Town

Prague's Old Town is like a time capsule! I wandered through the historic square, past the stunning Astronomical Clock, with its astrological secrets and puppet show, which was so captivating! And who could forget the iconic Charles Bridge? I had a feeling the tutu was the perfect addition to the enchanting bridge – a true embodiment of the graceful spirit of the city!

A Ballet Show that Made my Heart Soar!

Of course, no visit to Prague would be complete without experiencing a ballet performance. On September 5th I was lucky enough to see the enchanting “La Bayadère”, a story about forbidden love and sacrifice. The dancers were superb – each step and pose a story of its own. It was truly mesmerising! I’ve always felt there’s an air of magic that dances with us when we experience a ballet performance, and tonight, Prague certainly did not disappoint.

The Pink Tutu Paradise of Prague!

Of course, no blog post from Emma would be complete without some shopping! And oh my, Prague is a dream for fashion lovers. From quirky vintage shops to chic designer boutiques, I found everything I could possibly want, from stylish accessories that would add a touch of pink to my everyday life, to gorgeous, delicate fabrics, ideal for inspiring the creation of new tutu designs. I’m already thinking about how I can incorporate a little Prague magic into my upcoming ballet shows – just imagine a dreamy waltz set in the Old Town Square!

Riding a Horse Drawn Carriage – Fairy Tale Come True

There's something truly romantic about taking a horse-drawn carriage ride, especially in a city as picturesque as Prague! With the setting sun painting the sky in hues of gold and orange, and the sound of the horses' hooves rhythmically clicking on the cobbles, it was truly a fairy tale moment! I felt like a princess in my pink tutu!

Goodbye for Now, Prague!

Prague has stolen a little piece of my heart! Its blend of beauty, history, and fairytale charm make it a truly unforgettable city. It’s definitely a destination I will be returning to, for sure! For now, I'll leave you with this thought: Let the magic of Prague inspire your dreams! Maybe it's time to try a pink tutu…or just embrace your inner fairytale princess.
