Pink Tutu Prague: #695

Wednesday, 20th August, 2008

Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, straight from the cobbled streets of Prague! I've finally reached the enchanting city of a thousand spires and I'm utterly smitten.

This week's Pink Tutu adventures have been a whirlwind of enchanting architecture, delicious pastries, and - of course - the exquisite ballet performance I came to witness.

It feels like an absolute dream to be here! The train journey from Derbyshire was an adventure in itself - I chose a comfy compartment where I could fully enjoy the changing scenery, and the swaying rhythm felt almost like a ballet in itself. I even spotted a lovely horse and cart, and for a moment, I fantasised about arriving in Prague astride a beautiful chestnut mare, all in a flowing pink tulle tutu, naturally!

Fashion In Prague

Upon my arrival, I was immediately drawn to the abundance of charming boutiques tucked away amongst Prague's narrow streets. You could say I have a bit of a penchant for a bargain, and let's be honest, who doesn't love a fabulous find! I snagged a beautiful floral-print vintage dress that will be perfect for my evening outing to the ballet tonight. You simply can't leave Prague without a new outfit, or five!

Speaking of fashion, I simply must tell you about my pink tutu this week! This one's a real beauty - it's a shimmering lilac pink, a subtle blush tone with delicate layers of netting, creating a beautiful, billowing silhouette. I found it in a tiny shop nestled behind the famous Astronomical Clock. It practically whispered "take me home" as soon as I saw it.

The Ballet

Tonight's performance was breathtaking. The National Theatre in Prague is a marvel, all soaring arches and ornate chandeliers. You could feel the weight of history in every creak of the floorboards and the whispers of past ballerinas dancing beneath these very same chandeliers.

The production itself was magical! "Giselle" - such an emotive story and the dancers truly captivated the audience. I was swept away by the tragic love story and the incredible strength and grace of the corps de ballet. It’s such a beautiful art form, you can’t help but get lost in the narrative through their expressive movements. The music, oh, the music, filled the theatre with a soul-stirring quality, leaving me feeling deeply moved.

Afterwards, we wandered through the twinkling streets, stopping for delicious Czech pastries and hot chocolate in a quaint cafe. The energy of Prague is so lively, it's hard not to feel a bit swept away by its romance. And of course, my new dress was a complete showstopper, getting quite a few compliments from passing admirers!

Pink Tutu Dreams

I've always believed that ballet should be accessible to everyone, and I truly hope my little pink tutu adventures can encourage even more people to discover the magic of this graceful art form. Every ballerina dreams of the perfect pirouette, and I think every heart beats a little faster when they hear the enchanting music of the theatre.

And speaking of dreams, my dream for next week's blog is a little more fantastical. Imagine me exploring a magical, pink-tinged world, swirling with pink tulle and ethereal music, in a tutu made of fairy dust! But until then, it’s back to exploring this beautiful city. Who knows what new adventures await?

Be sure to catch me next Wednesday for another thrilling tale of my adventures! Until then, spread some pink joy and never forget to twirl with confidence!

Your eternally pink,

Emma xoxo
