Pink Tutu Prague: Post #723 - Whirlwind Wednesday in the City of a Hundred Spires

Hello, my dearest pink tutu darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a new post from yours truly, Emma, straight from the heart of magical Prague!

Let me just tell you, this week has been a whirlwind! From waltzing through historic cobbled streets to dancing with the city's legendary swans (more on that later!), it’s been a dream come true. I’ve already eaten my weight in delicious Czech pastries, stumbled upon hidden courtyards with blooming cherry blossom trees (think "Sound of Music" meets Prague!) and, of course, indulged in some fabulous ballet experiences that left me absolutely mesmerised.

Prague, you see, is a city steeped in artistic spirit. It practically whispers the rhythm of ballet history. Just picture me, pirouette-ing through the stunning Old Town Square, with its gothic architecture, and imagine a graceful, pink-tutu-clad vision of delight...

(This week's outfit? Well, you knew pink was a must. I opted for my signature ‘ballerina pink’ tutu, layered with a sheer lilac lace skirt, for that whimsical Parisian feel. To top it off? A handmade flower crown with the most adorable tiny white blooms that whispered springtime! Think Audrey Hepburn, but with a dash of bohemian princess.

(And for my shoes? Well, those are always a big topic for debate. But, you know what they say - you can never go wrong with a classic. My trusty ‘Clara’ pumps - the pair that graced my stage in ‘The Nutcracker’ – fit perfectly into this magical atmosphere, don’t you think?)

Anyway, enough about the outfit, though I confess, I find it endlessly fascinating how the right outfit can completely transform the way you experience a place. It’s about creating a personal symphony of colours and textures that blend with the magic of the surroundings. It’s about making each location a stage, and ourselves the most exquisite performance!

Now, where was I? Ah yes, ballet! I managed to snag a couple of tickets to a show at the exquisite Estates Theatre – an absolutely gorgeous, historic gem tucked away in the city’s labyrinthine heart. The evening's programme featured "La Sylphide" and a captivating piece from a young, up-and-coming local choreographer, showcasing contemporary movements alongside traditional techniques.

You know how much I adore the ballet! Not just the elegance and athleticism, but the powerful storytelling and sheer passion. It was truly a breathtaking experience. The music, the costumes, the incredible skill of the dancers – all these elements came together to create something truly captivating.

(I swear, I almost joined them on stage at one point! My "pink-tutu spirit" was soaring - it's almost as if ballet inspires you to just let your inner grace take flight, regardless of who is watching.)

But of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without exploring the beautiful architecture and the charming cafes that make this city a bohemian paradise. This week, I spent hours wandering the Charles Bridge, marveling at the fairytale-like bridges and the captivating stories they whisper. The energy of this ancient city is palpable.

Oh, and the swans! They’re the ultimate ballet stars of Prague. You can find them drifting along the Vltava River, gracefully gliding between the bridges. (I had a delightful time just watching them, mimicking their elegant movements.)

Speaking of movements, it was a day for strolling along Prague's vibrant streets! It feels like this city was built to be explored by foot – with a sprinkle of wanderlust in every step!

(Just imagine it! Walking down a cobblestone street, with its shops and cafes and, of course, charming locals who were all just as enamoured with pink tutus as I am! And every once in a while, I'd throw a perfect pirouette - a little bit of ballet magic in the air! **

*You know, one thing I've realised about travelling? It’s about embraceing the unknown, it’s about living life in a tutu - and always being ready to embrace new experiences! *

*For the remainder of this week, I’ll be exploring Prague’s hidden treasures. There's a special antique shop with a tutu display that's calling my name. (It’s tucked away in an alley, and it’s apparently rumoured to have the most beautiful, handmade tutus, including a selection from the 20s!) *

**(It wouldn't be a trip to Prague without a new addition to my tutu collection, wouldn't it? And this time, I'm not afraid to splurge on a vintage, feather-trimmed dream!)

Oh, and have I told you about the charming tea salon I stumbled upon by chance? I have to tell you about their incredible rose-petal cake and the incredible assortment of teas - perfect for enjoying with a book after a long day of exploration. (Just make sure you check out my instagram later this week, because you’re in for a pink treat. )

*But enough about Prague. How are you all doing, my darling readers? What are you up to this week? Tell me all about it! *

*And remember, my dears: always remember the power of the tutu – let it inspire you to find your inner ballerina, dance with your own rhythm, and be unapologetically you. *

* Until next Wednesday, my loves, and don’t forget, visit www.pink-tutu.com. You never know, you might just find the inspiration you need to twirl your way through life.*

(Now excuse me, I have more of Prague to discover - and a few pirouettes to perfect for next week's post!

(XOXO, Emma )**
