Pink Tutu Prague: Post #753 - A Whirlwind of Culture & Cotton Candy Dreams

Hello my darling dears, and welcome to another week of Pink Tutu Travels! This week, I'm taking you on a magical journey to Prague, the heart of Czechia, where I've been twirling my way through cobblestone streets and grand squares, feeling like a fairytale princess in my favourite pink tutu, of course.

From Derbyshire to Prague: A Journey in Pink

Now, you know I'm a sucker for a scenic train ride. This time, it was the Eurostar to Paris and then onward to Prague, where I practically flew off the train in my eagerness to explore! The scenery was breathtaking; rolling hills, vineyards shimmering under the sun, and villages with colourful houses nestled like jewels amongst the foliage. A journey to truly make any ballerina’s heart sing!

The moment I arrived, I was transported to another world. Imagine cobblestone squares buzzing with life, historic buildings draped in vines and blooming with flowers, and streets filled with the enchanting aroma of Czech pastries and freshly roasted coffee beans! Prague is like a fairytale come alive.

Prague's Ballet Gems

Speaking of dancing, did you know that Prague has a rich and fascinating ballet heritage? This week, I was lucky to see a stunning performance by the Prague National Theatre Ballet at the magnificent National Theatre. They were performing Tchaikovsky's iconic 'Swan Lake'. The elegance of the dancers, the powerful choreography, the sheer emotion of the ballet, it all simply took my breath away!

Fashion Inspiration: Prague's Bohemian Chic

I was smitten with Prague's bohemian charm, not just for the quaint coffee shops and charming bookshops, but also for the way fashion intertwines with the city’s soul. From vintage clothing boutiques to street style inspired by the colourful history of the city, I was inspired everywhere I went! Prague's vibe is effortless chic, vintage flair mixed with contemporary elements – think flowing skirts, oversized cardigans, and playful prints all with a touch of old-world romance. Of course, I incorporated that playful bohemian flair into my own outfit, rocking my trusty pink tutu with a floral blouse, a wide-brimmed hat, and a delicate chain of vintage charm bracelets. I am always about embracing my personal style wherever I go, even in the most charming of European cities!

Pink Tutu-ing Around Prague:

To capture the beauty of the city and let you experience my adventures, I simply had to post a few snaps to my Instagram! I shared images of my whimsical travels on Prague's bridges, strolling along the riverbank with its picture-perfect bridges, capturing my ballerina heart in front of the iconic Charles Bridge.

A Fairytale Evening

To truly immerse myself in the magic of Prague, I couldn't miss out on experiencing a fairytale evening, so I indulged in a carriage ride through the cobblestone streets. I felt like a princess transported back to the time of charming princes and opulent palaces. I also explored the Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle complex in the world, with its stunning cathedral and enchanting cobblestone pathways – what a storybook adventure!

A Passion for History and Couture:

It wouldn’t be a proper Pink Tutu adventure without a peek into the fascinating history of ballet! In Prague, I discovered the exquisite Municipal House, an art nouveau masterpiece with magnificent stained glass windows and elegant interiors. The building holds a special place in my heart for its connection to ballet – the beautiful dance halls have seen countless performances and are now dedicated to the art form.

Speaking of beauty, one of my favourite Prague experiences was a trip to the fascinating Musée des Arts Décoratifs. I was dazzled by the elegant display of historical costumes and fashion accessories. I even spotted some tutus! Though not pink, they were from various historical periods and inspired by the beauty of movement. I love how ballet and fashion are forever entwined!

Prague: A City for All Tastes (and Tutuses!)

But beyond the stunning architecture and enchanting art, Prague truly is a city that appeals to every taste! You’ll find charming bookstores bursting with treasures and delectable local delicacies, delicious food markets, lively craft breweries, and trendy coffee shops offering unique flavours from across the globe.

Don't worry, my darling dears, I wasn’t going to leave Prague without a touch of shopping! Of course, my pink tutu wardrobe couldn't leave the city without a few new pieces. From chic boutiques to vintage markets, I found charming trinkets and exquisite jewelry, the perfect additions to my fashion arsenal.

Until Next Time...

Well, that’s a wrap from Prague! I’ve left my heart (and a few pairs of pink shoes!) here in this magical city. As always, stay fabulous, dear friends, and don’t forget to live your life in a twirling pink tutu! I'll be back next week with a brand new adventure!

Until then, remember to embrace the pink!

Your pink tutu-loving friend, Emma
