Prague Pretty, Pink Tutu Paradise: Post 760 🩰💕

Hello my darling tutu-loving readers! It’s Wednesday, which means a new Pink Tutu blog post! This week, I'm writing to you from the magical city of Prague, where cobblestones are a little more enchanting and even the street musicians play waltz music.

As many of you know, I live and breathe ballet, and travelling by train with my trusty pink tutu (it really does fit perfectly in my hand luggage, just ask!) to a new city with a rich ballet history is an absolute dream.

Prague is steeped in history, you know? The majestic Prague National Theatre is like something straight out of a storybook. It’s on the banks of the Vltava river and looks absolutely incredible. I can’t even explain how amazing it looks all lit up at night.

I've already managed to see an absolutely splendid production of Swan Lake in this beautiful theatre. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! The performance was flawless, and the costumes? To die for! They had to have taken weeks to create, each one a work of art in itself. It reminded me that a true tutu should be about more than just a frilly skirt - it’s an entire experience, an art form in its own right, with every detail thoughtfully chosen to create an exquisite whole.

The city of Prague has such a sweet and friendly atmosphere, making it a truly charming place to explore. The old town is a delight – just strolling through the cobblestone squares and down those narrow streets where the buildings are just so grand with beautiful turrets.

Yesterday I found the cutest little vintage shop with the most fabulous selection of vintage ballet clothes! Can you believe they had some real antique tutus for sale? They're perfect for an afternoon ballet picnic on the Charles Bridge, or at least for some imaginative photos. They are a little delicate to wear, however!

There’s a wonderful market next to the National Theatre, full of fresh flowers and local artisan crafts. Of course, I couldn't resist a pink floral crown for a truly fairytale-esque experience, especially with Prague being so incredibly pretty.

Today is the day. You guessed it: I’m off to a new ballet class! I found this adorable, little dance studio that looks like it’s from a different era. I think I’m actually going to get myself a new ballet bun. It's called "The Pretty Pink Ballerina", and they even have these beautiful hand-painted tutus for sale - the prettiest I have ever seen, almost too pretty to wear.

Tonight I’m headed back to the theatre. This time for "La Bayadère." If you know me, you’ll know just how much I love "La Bayadère" with its beautiful exotic setting. The colours! Oh, the colours are amazing in this performance!

Oh, I must tell you! I finally rode a horse and carriage! Well, I sat in the carriage at least. The horses were all dressed up, very much in the style of Vienna – with the feathers and tassels. I absolutely had to grab a picture!

I will let you know what "La Bayadère" is like. Don't forget to catch me next Wednesday!

Love, Emma
