Pink Tutu Prague: Post 767 - A Whirlwind of Romance and Rococo!

Hello my dearest tutu-twirling friends! This week, I've been dancing my way through the cobblestone streets of Prague, and it's been an absolute dream! Think fairy tale charm, historical beauty, and enough pastries to fuel a ballerina for a week - what's not to love?!

This is the 767th post on Pink-Tutu.com, which feels incredibly special. We've come a long way from my first clumsy steps as a blogger. To celebrate, I'm sharing all the fabulous fun and frocks that Prague has to offer!

As always, I arrived in style - my trusty pony, Priscilla, galloped me across the picturesque countryside, right into the heart of this enchanting city. Then, it was straight onto a steam train, a gloriously vintage contraption that whisked me through rolling hills and charming towns. Let's just say, my pink tutu certainly stood out against the old-fashioned carriages - a modern touch amidst the traditional!

Prague Ballet - A Grand Entrance

My first stop in Prague had to be the ballet! This magnificent city is a haven for dancers, so naturally, I wanted to immerse myself in its vibrant cultural scene. The program on Wednesday, January 6th featured a gorgeous adaptation of "The Sleeping Beauty" at the opulent Estates Theatre.

Now, you might be thinking: “Emma, we know you adore tutus, but isn't "The Sleeping Beauty" a little... well, expected? " And you'd be right! It's a classic for a reason, of course. But what I really enjoyed was the Rococo aesthetic. The delicate costumes, the elegant choreography - it was a stunning example of how ballet can be a bridge between history and contemporary dance.

Speaking of costumes, let's chat tutus! Prague is a vintage paradise, and I found myself utterly smitten with the 18th-century fashion of the Rococo era. Think fluffy gowns, shimmering fabrics, and lots and lots of pink - basically, everything a ballerina dreams of! The tutus in the show were magnificent, each one a work of art.

I was lucky enough to nab some tickets for a backstage tour afterwards. Seeing how much craftsmanship and dedication goes into each piece truly left me awestruck. I almost begged to take one of those tutus home with me!

Prague: A Symphony of Pastel Pink

But it's not just ballet that has my heart dancing in Prague! This city is a beautiful blur of colours and textures, a visual feast that feels like stepping into a fairytale. From the pastel pink houses lining the Vltava river to the intricate stained-glass windows in the grand cathedral, Prague oozes an elegant, timeless beauty.

And let's talk about shopping! As soon as I stepped out of the train station, I knew Prague was going to be a shopper's paradise. It's brimming with independent boutiques and vintage stores filled with all kinds of sartorial delights. Of course, I went wild on the vintage finds – lace gloves, antique hats, and of course, more tutus! I found a dreamy pink lace one, perfectly imperfect and adorned with faded blush roses, just the kind of find that makes a ballerina's heart soar!

I even indulged in some delicious Czech pastries. Sweet and fluffy, like spun sugar! A perfect fuel for all the ballet classes I plan to take in the coming days! Speaking of ballet classes, did I mention that Prague has some of the best schools in Europe? I can already imagine myself swirling in the studios here, learning from experienced teachers and feeling the pure joy of dancing!

Embracing the Spirit of Prague

The energy of this city is infectious, a blend of historical grandeur and modern-day charm. You can almost feel the ghosts of composers and artists walking the cobblestones. Every street corner is a vignette waiting to be discovered, every café a scene straight out of a novel.

I’ve been dancing through the streets, humming waltzes, and soaking up the energy of Prague. The locals here have a sense of whimsy and charm. They remind me to look for the magical in the everyday, to find beauty in the unexpected, and, most importantly, to embrace my inner ballerina!

Prague – My Pink Tutu Haven

After a long, happy day, I’m back at my hotel, my mind buzzing with all the sights and sounds of Prague. I've been adding these wonderful memories to my ever-growing list of inspirations – for a new ballet routine, perhaps, or a stunningly stylish blog post.

This is Prague: a city where a pink tutu truly feels at home, where dreams twirl and fantasy comes alive. And you know what? This pink tutu is ready for more!

As always, don't forget to share your thoughts! Let me know if you’ve visited Prague, or if there’s a special city you’d like to see me twirl through.
