Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Ballet, Beautiful Prague, and (of course) Pink!
Hello darlings! Welcome to post number 785, it's Emma here, back from my whirlwind trip to Prague. Oh, the pink delights! And the ballet! Let's dive in, shall we?
This week, my dear readers, Prague has captivated me completely with its charming cobbled streets, Gothic spires reaching towards the heavens, and the spectacular Prague Castle overlooking the city. But more on that later!
A quick catch up: As some of you know, my love of ballet has been the fuel for my travel adventures. Every week, I dance, teach, and perform, filling my piggy bank with pink pounds to fund my next big adventure! This time, it's Prague! And this week's adventure kicked off on May 12th, with a journey from Derbyshire, where the sun kissed the fields in a golden light as I travelled on the train.
And what does a tutu-clad traveller pack? You already know: pink, pink and more pink! I swear, darling, you could find me in the luggage queue just by spotting the pile of fuchsia suitcases with my sparkly pink name tags. My trusty luggage has been around the world a few times now, but I still find joy in packing it for a new adventure. And of course, in this pink arsenal, you'll find my ballet bag brimming with everything from leotards to pink silk ballet shoes to, of course, my show-stopping pink tutu! I mean, darling, what's a ballerina travelling to Prague without her pièce de résistance?
Once I settled into my cosy little pink-hued hotel room, (a little slice of paradise I found just off the Charles Bridge), it was time for a celebratory pink cocktail at the bar. The view over the Prague skyline was simply breathtaking. But you know me, darling, the real highlight of any day, even when it's as picturesque as Prague, is always a good ballet show!
Tonight, the National Theatre held a grand performance of Swan Lake the iconic Tchaikovsky ballet. The music soared, the costumes shimmered, the story unfolded before my very eyes. Oh, my dears, the elegance and grace of the dancers, their skill, it simply mesmerized me. And you can't forget those beautiful tutus! It felt almost magical to witness it all unfold right in front of me. It was a real treat, a pure and enchanting spectacle.
The post-ballet mood found me meandering through the charming streets of the old town, the moonlight dappling on the medieval architecture, as I took in the bustling night scene. The scent of roasted chestnuts, sausages, and local beers wafted from nearby restaurants. Oh darling, it was like a fairytale!
*But before I get carried away by Prague's romantic charms, * I wanted to tell you about a special treasure I found today: a charming little boutique on a cobblestoned lane in Old Town Prague. I practically squealed with delight when I saw it - it was filled with vintage fashion treasures and gorgeous handmade ballet tutus. Talk about finding a gem, darling!
Now, I'm a little embarrassed to admit (okay, maybe not "a little"), I may have spent a bit more than anticipated in that shop. My pockets may be a bit lighter but, darling, my heart is brimming with joy! It was so wonderful to discover this little haven of creativity and pastel pink tulle. The shop owner, a petite ballerina named Tereza, even invited me to her weekly ballet class where we spun, pirouetted, and twirled until our hearts were content. It was simply divine.
So much has happened this week, darling, I've barely touched the surface. I have so much more to tell you!
* Next week, my dear readers, we’re going to* explore the enchanting Prague Castle, discover the wonders of the Charles Bridge with its legendary statues, learn the history behind the city's famous astronomical clock and, of course, indulge in some fabulous fashion finds!
