Pink Tutu Prague: Post No. 789

Wednesday 9th June 2010

Darling readers,

How's my little bunch of pink-tutu-wearing angels doing? Did you all have a lovely week? I hope your wardrobes are as gloriously pink and sparkly as mine, especially if you're preparing for any exciting performances or summer events. Oh, how I do love this season! The colours, the sunshine, and most importantly, the excuse to wear my favourite pink tutus with abandon!

I'm writing to you all from the most magical city - Prague! This fairytale haven of cobbled streets, towering castles, and the most stunning architecture, truly makes you feel as if you've stepped back into a storybook. Honestly, my dears, the amount of pink inspiration here is just phenomenal - everything seems to have a delicate pink tinge!

I journeyed here by train, of course. There's nothing more romantic than watching the countryside fly by, especially from the comfort of a plush, first-class carriage. Imagine, my fellow tutu enthusiasts, a delicate lace shawl draped around my shoulders, my pale pink tulle swirling around my ankles, a hot chocolate warming my fingers, and the sound of the train rumbling along... absolute bliss!

But enough about my train trip, let's talk Prague! The moment I arrived, I felt a burst of creativity hit me like a wave. Prague has this extraordinary sense of romance and grandeur, so of course, I went straight to a ballet shop! Now, darling readers, I can't tell you how excited I was to see the rows upon rows of exquisite tutus – imagine, rows and rows of pink tutus in every style and colour imaginable. From the most delicate chiffon to the luxurious, hand-stitched satin, it was tutu heaven! I spent an hour, I tell you, just admiring the craftsmanship, each tutu a tiny masterpiece! And as you all know, I couldn't leave without my new purchase – a gorgeous, delicate pale pink tutu, just the right shade for strolling around the city.

After my ballet shopping spree, it was time for another favourite pastime – afternoon tea! Now, a proper, high tea in Prague is nothing short of spectacular. It was like being transported to a Jane Austen novel! Fine china, silver teapots, finger sandwiches, pastries galore… the perfect place to indulge my sweet tooth and people-watch in style!

And speaking of style, darling readers, let's talk fashion! The women of Prague are so chic, and the street style is truly inspirational. Think elegant vintage dresses, bold jewellery, and chic handbags, and you have a taste of the beautiful chaos. You'll be seeing my Prague-inspired outfit post next week, I assure you! It's full of pink tulle and delicate details – what more could you ask for?

But the real treat of this trip is coming on Thursday 10th June - the Prague Opera Ball. Oh my dears, how glamorous! Imagine, a ballroom bathed in candlelight, waltzing under a magnificent chandelier, sipping champagne in my gorgeous new pink tutu - it's truly going to be magical!

Oh, and did I mention that on Thursday 10th June the Prague Ballet will be showcasing a performance of "Swan Lake"? Now, if that isn't a perfect excuse to embrace the ballerina lifestyle, I don't know what is! I just adore that classic fairytale romance – Tchaikovsky’s score, the swans, the intricate costumes, it’s the ultimate theatrical experience! And, darling, the choreography is so enchanting, you won’t be able to take your eyes away from the graceful dancers – I know I won't!

So, there you have it, darling readers – my first two days in Prague! My diary is already filled with exciting activities like browsing vintage shops (for some new tutu inspiration, naturally), exploring the beautiful bridges and cobblestone streets, indulging in local delicacies, and soaking up the artistic atmosphere.

Keep checking back for more Prague adventures, and remember, don't be afraid to unleash your inner ballerina!

Lots of love,

Emma x
