Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a fresh dose of pink tutu magic from yours truly, Emma, and this week, I'm bringing you all the fabulousness of Prague! 🩰
I'm so excited to finally be in this beautiful city. I've been planning this trip for ages, dreaming of cobblestone streets, stunning architecture, and, of course, all the gorgeous tutus I can possibly imagine. And let me tell you, Prague is delivering on all fronts!
Travel by Train & Pony?
I travelled here in the most magical way imaginable - by train! Now, I know what you're thinking: “Emma, isn’t that a bit passé for someone who dreams in pink tulle?” Well, hear me out! I journeyed on the most beautiful steam train I’ve ever seen - a magnificent old beauty with gleaming brass fixtures, plush velvet seats, and windows that framed rolling landscapes of incredible beauty. It truly felt like a step back in time! And yes, my darling, I even brought along my beloved “Pink Princess” - my pony who is, of course, pink - on board! (Although he did get a bit grumpy about the cramped conditions. Who can blame him? 😉)
Pink-tastic Prague!
Once we arrived, I was immediately charmed by Prague's fairy tale vibes. The city just feels so romantic and enchanting, with its towering spires, pastel-coloured houses, and cobblestone streets lined with charming shops. Every corner feels like a painting, and the air is alive with the scent of freshly baked pastries and blooming flowers.
Pink-tastic Ballet Shopping Spree!
And of course, I couldn’t possibly come to Prague without going on a pink tutu shopping spree! I stumbled upon the most divine shop nestled in a side street called “The Tutu Emporium” - an absolute haven for any tutu enthusiast. Their selection was beyond incredible! I found the most dazzling tulle fabric - it almost sparkled like a million tiny diamonds. I could have stayed in there for hours, lost in a sea of ribbons, sequins, and fabric swatches!
My Dream Come True!
And to top off this incredible trip, I got to attend the most incredible ballet performance at the National Theatre. It was a production of "Swan Lake," a ballet I have always adored since I was a little girl, and the costumes? Divine! The sheer detail and craftsmanship were simply stunning, the swirling tutus, and the majestic tutus… it felt like stepping right into a dream.
I must tell you, I've always dreamt of seeing this ballet in such a prestigious theatre, and seeing it in Prague made it all the more magical. It was the perfect ending to my pink-tastic Prague adventure.
The Heart of Pink Tutu Prague!
Wednesday June 30th, 2010 - the National Theatre - The Swan Lake Ballet Performance - Now this is a show I shall never forget! The set was amazing - such breathtaking scenery - I was truly in a fairytale land - and I saw more beautiful tutus than I could ever imagine, but they were all on other dancers, not on me. It’s one of life’s little frustrations! 😂
After the performance, I made my way through the charming cobbled streets of Prague, with the scent of sweet roasted almonds and street food in the air - the very atmosphere was just so romantic, with my beloved Pink Princess trotting beside me! Prague truly feels like a city that knows how to live.
