Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Lover's Paradise! (Post #825)
Wednesday 16th February 2011
Hello darlings! Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure, this time in the magical city of Prague! As you know, my love for all things pink, all things tutu, and all things ballet takes me to some incredible places, and Prague was truly a dream come true. I can't wait to share my experiences with you!
It's amazing how a journey can inspire your soul. I hopped on the Eurostar in my signature pink tutu and pink felt beret (a must for keeping my ears warm on a chilly train journey) and headed to the continent, feeling a delightful flutter in my tummy! I have to say, travelling by train is quite charming. You get to relax, sip on a latte, and take in the scenery without the fuss of security queues!
My first glimpse of Prague, with its beautiful spires and pastel-coloured buildings, reminded me of a scene from a fairy tale. It was like stepping onto the set of my favourite ballet! Speaking of which, the highlight of my trip, of course, was the Ballet in Prague performance on the 16th! I've always been fascinated by the history of ballet. Just imagine, twirling and leaping across the stage back in the day! The whole experience felt very elegant and whimsical. I mean, you can't deny the charm of watching talented ballerinas pirouette against the backdrop of a stunning 19th-century opera house.
Ballet in Prague is a must-see for any ballet lover visiting this city! It was just incredible, like a graceful dance between the past and present! My heart nearly leaped out of my tutu! (A moment of dramatic pause here, for added effect.)
And the fashion! Oh, the fashion! The girls looked divine in their traditional, but modern, tutu designs. A bold burst of pink and fuschia! Oh, and how I would love to slip into one of those tutus for the performance! I know I wouldn't disappoint you!
The music was so beautiful, and the dancing was absolutely captivating. It transported me to another time, a world of romance and grace. It was like stepping into a painting. Even the colours seemed brighter in Prague!
Oh, and did I tell you I tried my hand at ballet class? The class was held in a beautiful old studio right next to the river. It felt so Bohemian and artistic! As a beginner, I had to laugh at my awkwardness! You wouldn't have caught me in my pink tutu during the class, though I did sport a chic black leotard with a delicate, yet slightly sparkly, fuschia scarf. (Always matching your footwear to your tutu or your accessories, it's all about those little touches!)
And to top it all off, I stumbled upon this fabulous antique shop filled with beautiful, vintage tutus! Oh my, I found myself wanting to take them all home! The shopkeeper was absolutely delightful. She showed me her beautiful selection, all carefully arranged on antique mannequins. It was like stepping back in time. And to my absolute delight, I found this incredible dusty rose pink tutu - with just a touch of glitter, of course - tucked away in a corner! It felt so precious, and a little bit vintage, and it even had these lovely lace details that flowed beautifully. You just had to see it twirling on the mannequins!
Speaking of twirling, I had to try a horse ride while in Prague. I found the most wonderful horse in the park - it was a handsome, black stallion with a flowing mane, just like the ones you see in ballets! And of course, my trusty pink tutu and black boots (for riding, darling, riding!) were with me for the occasion! It was so magical riding around the park in the crisp, Prague air, the breeze catching the layers of tulle and pink, feeling the power and the grace of the magnificent stallion!
Oh, and did I mention the food? Prague is a food lover's dream. From rich pastries to delicious traditional Czech dishes, everything I tasted was heavenly. Especially the chocolate cakes. You've never tasted such chocolate, trust me! It melted in my mouth! (It probably wouldn't melt on a cold winter's day though, maybe a little warmth might be helpful?)
Prague really lived up to all my expectations and then some. It's a city that embraces beauty, history, and art in every corner. The charm and the culture of Prague made this trip so memorable, and the highlight was most definitely the Ballet in Prague performance.
I have to say, after this adventure, Prague might just have to be added to my top five ballet-related travel destinations. So, if you ever find yourself in this charming city, make sure to visit the Ballet in Prague show, take a peek in some vintage shops for an antique pink tutu or two, and if you feel adventurous, take a horse ride through the beautiful parks. You won't be disappointed.
Oh, and darling, be sure to bring a pink tutu for that special someone. Trust me, everyone in the city loves pink tutus. You'll spread so much joy!
Love, Emma xx
