Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Dream Come True! (Post #843)

Hello my lovely lot! It's your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, Emma, back from the cobbled streets of Prague! This week, I'm bursting with excitement to share my experiences from the most magical city I've ever been to - and I've seen a fair few! From the moment I stepped off the train, Prague whispered promises of history, beauty, and of course, ballet. And let's face it, when Prague says "ballet," it means "pink tutu"!

Train Travels & Fairy Tale Towns

This trip started in the most delightful way - a journey on a train through the rolling green hills of Derbyshire. I must confess, there's nothing quite as charming as watching the scenery rush past from the window of a train, with the scent of fresh air filling the carriage. It always inspires me with ideas for new blog posts - my muse loves to ride trains, especially when my favourite pink tutu is draped around my legs!

This time, the trip was extra special because I managed to borrow a lovely chestnut pony from a friend in the village. (My first attempt at horse-riding was not so successful - a hilarious, albeit slightly traumatic, tumble down a hill at the age of six! It's all a matter of practice, they say. wink). We spent a morning exploring the fields near Derby, the gentle sway of the pony and the sweet scent of hay giving me a moment of true peace before embarking on my adventure.

A Prague-Tastic Debut

Prague itself, as I mentioned, was an utter dream. With its romantic architecture and breathtaking views, it's easy to see why it's been used as the backdrop for countless films and television shows. And of course, the food is utterly divine. I spent a day just wandering through the charming markets, sampling traditional delicacies and buying exquisite local chocolates.

But what truly made this trip magical was the ballet. Oh, the ballet! This week, I had the privilege of attending a performance at the magnificent National Theatre in Prague. The whole evening was truly special, with a stunning production of "Swan Lake." I had goosebumps from the opening scene to the final curtain. Seeing such masterful dancers brought the world of ballet to life in the most beautiful way.

A Tutus & Travels Tea Party

As with every trip, I made sure to indulge in my favourite ritual – afternoon tea! I discovered a quaint cafe hidden away on a quiet cobblestone street. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with comfy armchairs and delicate teacups. While indulging in a selection of finger sandwiches and freshly baked pastries, I couldn't help but admire the stunning ladies who sashayed by in their beautifully crafted outfits. The art of fashion and style seemed to weave through every corner of this wonderful city.

Pink Tutu Shopping Spree

Of course, no visit to Prague would be complete without a shopping trip! Prague's designers are known for their artistry and unique approach to fashion. The colours, textures, and embellishments - everything about Prague’s fashion spoke to me! And let me tell you, a pink tutu never fails to brighten up the most exquisite vintage frock.

I even discovered a charming vintage boutique where I picked up a delicate ivory lace bolero, just perfect for adding a touch of Parisian elegance to my next pink tutu outfit. I may have gotten carried away, however. Now my suitcase is absolutely brimming with gorgeous new additions to my wardrobe – the good kind of problem, I assure you.

Prague's Secret Ballet Treasures

This week's highlight had to be discovering the charming ballet studio tucked away behind the National Theatre. It felt like a secret, hidden world for ballet lovers like me. Imagine a space full of dusty mirrors, worn-out barres, and faded photos of dancers from the past - but brimming with passion and a sense of magic. They offered drop-in classes, which of course, I had to attend! And wouldn’t you know, I found myself sharing a barre with a group of incredibly talented young dancers. It's amazing how a shared passion for dance can connect people across cultures and language barriers.

The Pink Tutu and Prague: A Perfect Pairing

Prague’s streets echoed with the rhythm of dance, every cobblestone street corner revealing another magical ballet moment. The energy of the city - and of course, its amazing ballet traditions – completely captivated me. The architecture, the art, the food, and above all, the passion for dance – everything seemed to inspire a sense of creative energy within me. And if Prague can inspire this little Derbyshire girl, imagine what it could do for you!

But that’s not all…

Don’t miss my Instagram stories where you’ll get a sneak peek of Prague through my lens. I even recorded a little video of myself twirling around in a stunning pink tutu I found on my shopping trip – it's truly Prague-tastic!
