Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Lover's Dream Come True! (Post #852)
Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means - it's Pink Tutu Prague time! I'm so excited to be sharing this week's adventure with you all. This city, my dears, is an absolute dream for a ballerina like me, with its cobbled streets, majestic architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. I feel like I've stepped straight into a storybook!
A Journey on Rails and Four Hooves
I arrived in Prague last weekend after a truly delightful journey. From my little village in Derbyshire, I caught the train to London, where I was whisked away on a Eurostar express to Paris. And from the City of Lights, I took a high-speed train directly to the heart of Prague! There’s something so romantic about train travel, don’t you think? Seeing the scenery whiz by, tucking into a croissant with a hot chocolate... Pure bliss. And of course, no trip would be complete without a spot of pony riding - yes, my darlings, I found a lovely riding stable just outside Prague and had a wonderful gallop through the countryside! I might have worn my pink tutu for the occasion, just to make things extra fabulous, ;)
A Dance With History
The moment I arrived, I felt this overwhelming sense of wonder. The city’s rich history simply oozes out of every corner. We explored the Prague Castle, which dates back to the 9th century! I gasped at the Gothic architecture, the ornate details, the views - simply stunning. Of course, I had to twirl around the courtyard - a pink tutu is never out of place when surrounded by such breathtaking beauty.
Ballet Bonanza: My Prague Premiere
But my highlight, my dears, had to be the National Theatre performance I saw on Monday night. My heart skipped a beat the moment I saw the magnificent building, its beautiful exterior bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun. The interior was even more awe-inspiring! Velvet seats, chandeliers sparkling like stars, the scent of anticipation in the air.
The show itself was breathtaking! I won’t spoil it for you, but it involved soaring leaps, delicate steps, a dazzling array of costumes, and, of course, a story that tugged at the heartstrings. I couldn't stop myself from swaying to the music and applauding so loudly that I probably woke half of Prague! I absolutely love experiencing the energy of a live performance.
A Parisian Waltz: A Wardrobe Revolution
No visit to a European capital would be complete without some retail therapy, and Prague definitely didn't disappoint. I spent hours getting lost in the charming little boutiques, finding treasures that made my heart skip a beat. I was particularly enchanted by a small shop filled with vintage clothing and accessories. There I found a gorgeous sequined evening jacket in a perfect shade of blush pink - oh my, it was calling my name! And what's a ballerina's wardrobe without some sparkly tights? Well, Prague provided a wonderful selection, with every colour of the rainbow (including pink, of course!)
Tutu Delights: Where Fashion Meets History
Did you know that Prague boasts one of the oldest and most prestigious ballet academies in the world? I'm talking centuries-old tradition, my dears! I just had to see it for myself. The architecture is so elegant, the aura is inspiring - you can just imagine all the future ballerinas training there, honing their skills. I even managed to slip in for a glimpse of a rehearsal! And I'm not surprised they produce such amazing dancers - there's something magical about a room full of aspiring ballerinas, all dressed in beautiful tutus!
Prague, my heart beats for you!
As I finish writing this blog, I'm sitting in a charming cafe, enjoying a delicious slice of strudel. I can't believe how quickly my time in Prague is passing by! Every day has been filled with laughter, exploration, and endless wonder. I'm already planning my next visit, this time with a larger pink tutu in tow, just to make things even more fabulous.
This city is truly a place for every kind of princess - whether you dream of waltzing through historic streets, discovering hidden treasures, or losing yourself in a magnificent ballet performance. Prague, my heart beats for you!
So, until next Wednesday, lovelies, keep twirling, keep dreaming, and remember, pink tutus are always a good idea!
Much love, Emma xx
