Pink Tutu Prague: Adventures in a City of Castles, Culture & Tutus! 🩰🏰✨

#858 Wednesday 5th October 2011

Hello darlings! Emma here, your pink tutu-clad, ballet-loving friend, broadcasting live from the beautiful city of Prague! As you all know, my week wouldn't be complete without a Wednesday blog post, and I'm so excited to share my Prague adventures with you!

A Whirlwind Journey by Train and Pony (Okay, Maybe Not)

This trip was a bit different from usual, a glorious adventure from the rolling hills of Derbyshire to the cobbled streets of Prague! My journey started with a thrilling (and surprisingly peaceful) train journey. The countryside flew past my window, reminding me of those old-fashioned, romantic novels. I felt like I was in a Jane Austen book!

Reaching Prague felt like stepping into a fairytale, with its gothic towers, ancient bridges, and stunning architecture. You know how much I adore beautiful buildings, and Prague was absolutely overflowing with them! Honestly, darling, every corner you turn reveals a hidden masterpiece – and let me tell you, this fashion-conscious girl had to capture it all!

Finding My Pink Tutu Paradise

My mission: find the perfect spot for my first Prague ballet class! Now, as you know, I'm not just any ballerina. I’m Emma, the pink tutu ballerina, and finding the right setting is absolutely essential. My search led me to the most delightful little dance studio in the heart of Old Town. With its high ceilings and sparkling wooden floors, I instantly felt at home. Oh, and of course, my pink tutu was the absolute star of the show! It’s practically become a talisman!

The Ballet Extravaganza - It's Showtime!

I'm all about ballet performance, whether it's a grand opera house or a small theatre – any chance to witness the beauty and power of movement, I'm there! This week, I went to the grandest of grand ballet halls, the Estates Theatre, built in the late 18th century. I can’t help but be entranced by history, and a venue steeped in centuries of theatrical grandeur felt magical!

They were putting on Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, a classic for a reason! The performance was incredible, truly unforgettable! The costumes were breathtaking, the dancers moved with such grace and elegance. The way they flitted across the stage, just like swans upon a lake! I could have watched for hours, completely mesmerised.

Afterwards, I indulged in a well-deserved treat at a charming cafe tucked away in a quiet alleyway. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the coffee was simply divine. While I was sipping my latte, I found myself making a mental note to try some Czech cuisine. That sweet potato and goat cheese salad at dinner just wasn’t cutting it.

Discovering Prague's Fashion Scene

Speaking of indulgence, darling, this is where Prague truly won me over - shopping, oh my! Every corner had some hidden treasure – vintage boutiques overflowing with antique lace and beaded jackets, independent designers showcasing the most stunningly modern designs. My suitcase was practically bursting!

Even with a full day of sightseeing and dancing, I couldn’t resist venturing into the local markets. You know me, always looking for something to add to my pink tutu collection! And guess what, darling, I found the most adorable, feather-trimmed headband with the cutest pink ribbon - a perfect touch to complement my tutu!

Sharing My Love for the Tutu with the World!

Did you know? The very first tutus appeared on stage in the 18th century, worn by French ballerinas. Since then, they've evolved into the elegant garments we know and love today, inspiring generations of dancers like myself! Every day, I'm committed to bringing back the iconic elegance of the tutu.

My love for pink, the colour of hope, love, and joy, simply completes the picture! A touch of pink can brighten anyone’s day, and a pink tutu brings joy like no other. I hope I've inspired you, darling, to add some pink to your life. Go forth and spread the joy!

What's on this Week!

Today, October 5th, is Prague’s Day. This incredible city deserves its own day of recognition! To celebrate, Prague will be decked out in traditional Czech decorations and there will be music, dance, and cultural events throughout the city. It's a great opportunity to dive deeper into Prague's unique identity and discover hidden treasures!

This evening, I’m joining a Ballet Street event in Wenceslas Square – you know how much I love ballet performances! And yes, my pink tutu will definitely be making an appearance, because why would I miss the chance to showcase my love for dance, fashion and spreading joy?

As for my future adventures, well, I'm already scheming up my next pink-tutu-infused travel plans. Stay tuned!

Until next week, darlings!

Stay pink and stylish,

Emma x
