It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another installment of my Pink Tutu Prague adventures. As you know, I've been swept off my feet by the magic of Prague, a city bursting with history, beauty and... yes, you guessed it - pink tutus. Well, perhaps not pink tutus specifically, but the inspiration for the perfect tutu is definitely in the air here!
This week, I'm going to share with you a delightful day I spent experiencing a side of Prague you wouldn't find in any travel guide: a ballet wonderland! I've been dancing in my ballet slippers since I was a little girl in Derbyshire, and when it comes to ballets, Prague truly has a special charm.
The Perfect Pink Ensemble for a Bohemian Dream
For today's ballet adventure, I went all out. I picked a gorgeous dusky rose silk tutu from my collection. You know, the one with the slightly ruffled bottom? Paired it with my trusty pale pink cardigan, a touch of vintage charm, and of course, a little sparkly hair clip, just for a touch of Prague’s sparkling energy. Let's be honest, girls, there's no such thing as too much sparkle, right?
Now, I have to admit, finding the perfect pink tutu in the Pink Tutu Prague blog was not as simple as it sounds. It took weeks of planning, with careful consideration of every shade, every feather, every shimmering detail! I know some girls live for high heels, but I believe a good tutu can transport you anywhere, anywhere from the glamorous stage to a charming coffee shop!
Travelling by Pony: A Touch of Prague Magic
To start my journey, I opted for something completely unconventional (and a lot more glamorous than public transport!): a pony. Yes, you read that right, a pony! The quaint cobblestone streets of Prague, it seems, are ideal for this type of travel! And besides, I found the sweetest little white pony called Willow - she had the prettiest pink ribbon adorning her mane! You can just imagine the envious stares as we trotted through Old Town Square!
Now, let's get to the heart of the day's events. Prague's ballet scene, my lovelies, is an absolute delight! There's so much to explore, so many stages, so much inspiration, it simply left me breathless (which, as any ballerina knows, is not easy). Today, I visited the enchanting Prague State Opera.
Prague State Opera: The Magic is in the Air
The Prague State Opera House was an absolute feast for the eyes. Think elegant architecture, intricately carved marble, and a touch of history. My journey into the world of ballet began with The Nutcracker, a timeless classic. Oh, the stories those pointe shoes tell! It was pure enchantment. Every dancer's move, every subtle gesture, seemed to speak a language all its own. I swear, I could almost see those little mice prancing about! The way they incorporated local elements of Prague into the story? Just brilliant!
After the show, I couldn’t resist browsing through the beautiful bookstore tucked away in a quiet corner of the Opera House. Found the perfect book to match the delicate dance of my heart: A History of the Ballet Tutus It even had an illustration of the first pink tutu! Now, what girl wouldn’t want that on their bedside table?
Fashion, Dance, and Delights in Old Town
Now, I simply couldn't end the day without venturing into Prague's Old Town. The city’s energy is captivating – bustling streets, historic squares, charming cafés… a place to let your imagination wander, especially after a magical day like this.
And what does every pink tutu enthusiast do in Prague's Old Town? Well, naturally, we go shopping! I just had to find the perfect pink feather boa to complete my look, the finishing touch! It wasn't long before I stumbled upon the sweetest little shop tucked away down a narrow alley. Just as I imagined: a shop brimming with colourful fabrics, ribbons, feathers, sequins - you name it! My imagination was swirling with ideas, inspired by Prague's elegant ambiance. It took just a couple of minutes and a generous splash of cash to transform my look to perfectly pink Prague fashion!
And naturally, no Prague trip is complete without a delicious dinner, especially when there's an entire pink tutu outfit to complement! My Pink Tutu Prague journey ended with a delightful meal at a quaint local restaurant – the perfect way to indulge in the Bohemian culture, just like a true pink-loving ballerina! The meal, filled with a delectable assortment of Prague specialities, was divine.
