Prague Dreams in Pink: A Tutu-ful Adventure (Blog Post #876)
Hello, my darling tutu-lovers! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad travel blogger, and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures with you from the breathtakingly beautiful city of Prague!
As you know, Wednesdays are my dedicated Prague blog days, so buckle up and get ready for a whirlwind of pink, tulle, and a whole lot of Czech charm!
It’s a chilly February morning in Derbyshire, but the thought of Prague warms my heart like a cup of hot cocoa. I’ve spent the morning planning my week’s wardrobe and trying out my new pink ballet shoes, which I just know are going to be the perfect addition to my tutu collection (can you ever have too many tutus? I think not!). The last thing I do is slip on my trusty pink beret and I know I am ready for this trip.
As I sip my morning tea, a sense of adventure tingles in my toes. This week, I’ll be attending the National Theatre ballet performance in Prague! And it's no ordinary show, my darlings. They’re performing La Bohème, one of my absolute favourite ballets, and I’ve heard whispers of incredible costumes and sets – I just know I'll be taking endless pictures for my Insta, so be sure to follow me @pinktutuemma.
Speaking of Instagram, my darling followers, I'm hosting a little Tutu Tuesday Challenge! Share your most fabulous tutu outfit photos with the hashtag #PinkTutuPrague. The most creative tutu look wins a signed copy of my upcoming book, "Tutus Around the World" (which, by the way, will feature a whole chapter on my Prague adventures!). I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
But back to Prague! Today, I’ll be heading down to the train station for a scenic journey, fuelled by delicious Derbyshire cheese and oatcakes. Trains have a certain romance that no other form of transport can match, and I'm so excited to be gliding across the countryside to my next amazing destination. It's always such a joy to get lost in a book, a conversation with a fellow passenger (who knows, maybe a future Tutu Tuesday winner?), or to simply marvel at the changing landscapes outside the window.
You know me – I just love finding those unique little boutiques off the beaten path that are overflowing with vintage clothes, quirky accessories, and of course, beautiful ballet shoes. Prague is famous for its vintage treasures and I am desperate to find a vintage tulle tutu, ideally pink. You’ll just have to keep checking the blog throughout the week to see what treasures I unearth.
As much as I love indulging in the fashion scene, a big part of my journey to Prague is steeped in its rich history and culture. Did you know that ballet has a long and fascinating history in this city? It goes all the way back to the 18th century! From the opulent imperial court ballets to the revolutionary modern dance movements of the 20th century, Prague’s dance scene has always been a vibrant force, and I am determined to soak it all up.
My initial plan was to travel to Prague by pony, as I love seeing the world from its perspective, but with such an important week ahead of me, the pony decided to give me a break! I can't wait to visit some of Prague's historical landmarks like the iconic Charles Bridge or the magnificent Prague Castle. The cobbled streets, gothic architecture, and bustling marketplaces all add to the magical atmosphere of this charming city.
Now, let’s chat about this evening's agenda: a performance at the National Theatre, Prague’s cultural gem. I’ll be stepping out in my newest blush-pink tulle tutu, pairing it with a delicate white lace top and a pearl necklace for a touch of elegance. After the performance, a little bit of exploration is in order, and I’m particularly excited about visiting a cozy cafe called Cafe Louvre known for its decadent cakes and coffee, the perfect fuel for a delightful evening.
But before I embark on this dreamy adventure, I'm putting the finishing touches on my blog post and indulging in a small afternoon treat – some Czech pastry, perhaps? The smell of freshly baked bread wafting through the air has already lured me into a local bakery, a tempting sight of pastries with fluffy frosting and beautiful marzipan ornaments - how could I resist?
I promise you, my dears, I’ll be sharing every pink-tutu-ful detail of my journey to Prague, from the hidden vintage shops I stumble upon to the magical ballet performance and beyond. Keep those eyes peeled for more posts this week, as I document everything! Until next time, happy twirling and remember: “If you can dream it, you can do it!”
With love and twirls,
Emma
