Prague, Prague, Wonderful Prague! Post #886 - The Pink Tutu's Parisian Dream
Hello darling tutu lovers!
It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another adventure in the world of Pink Tutu! Today I'm writing from Prague, a city I've dreamt of visiting ever since I was a little girl. I even imagined performing here, which seems a little crazy, but I truly believe in the magic of believing! This trip, however, is all about experiencing the vibrant culture and captivating architecture that Prague has to offer, and, of course, seeing some incredible ballet shows.
Now, I must confess, my journey to Prague started a bit more rustic than I imagined. After my usual ballet class, I hopped on the train to Dover, the wind whipping my hair into a fabulous pink-tutu-friendly chaos. It’s such an adventure seeing England from the train window, with the green countryside whizzing by, just like a scene from one of those classic children's books. From there, I took the Eurostar through the Chunnel. A bit crowded for a pink tutu, but so very exciting! And finally, after what felt like ages (but in a good way, as all travelling should be!), I found myself arriving in Prague with a giddy excitement buzzing through me, all pink-tutu ready.
Speaking of excitement, I was bursting with glee when I checked into my hotel. I mean, come on, pink and tulle - it's the epitome of fashion. The charming little boutique hotel in the Old Town has this incredible pastel-pink courtyard. Seriously, you would think it was taken straight from a fairytale. So much inspiration for my future pink-tutu wardrobe, I felt a flurry of ideas for tutu creations bubbling up inside me!
Prague, You're So Chic!
I spent the first day, of course, exploring Prague's fascinating Old Town. Every corner held a new discovery – enchanting gothic churches, cobblestone alleyways bursting with flowers, and little boutiques selling beautiful antique porcelain and lace, which always inspire me. And, what's a Pink Tutu adventure without some serious shopping? You'll be seeing loads of gorgeous Prague finds on my website soon! Oh, and my favourite place? I adore the Charles Bridge, a picturesque bridge over the Vltava river, with its lovely Baroque statues and street performers - there were even some little ballerinas in their tutus, it warmed my heart! I had to buy myself a little something at a tiny shop filled with Prague-themed souvenirs! And yes, of course, it was pink and had a little tutu on it. I mean, who needs regular fridge magnets? I just couldn't resist a mini version of the Charles Bridge for my ballet room!
A Dance Dream Come True
The big highlight of my trip, of course, was attending the ballet performance at the National Theatre, Prague. Oh my, what a magnificent theatre, dripping with history and beauty! And the show itself, Giselle...well, my darling tutus, it took my breath away! You've simply got to witness this classical ballet masterpiece! Every leap, every pirouette, every glance, the emotion - It was a beautiful testament to the beauty of ballet! Just thinking about it makes me want to start swirling my skirt, do some jeté jumps around my flat. Prague, you are just brimming with art and dance magic!
Now, before I leave you all, I've gotta mention the delicious pastries. Yes, Prague has this incredible tradition of beautiful, mouth-watering, freshly baked treats! I even tried one shaped like a little pink ballet shoe, with a dollop of pink buttercream. My love for all things pink knows no bounds! And then there was the adorable coffee shop with pink floral décor, where I tucked into the most decadent strawberry and whipped cream tartlet - oh, and it was pink! My dear friends, I promise you this city was simply made for my pink tutu adventures!
Stay tuned for my next post next week! Remember to stay sparkly and embrace the magic!
Lots of Love and Swirls,
Emma xx
