Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Culture and Colour! (Blog Post #891)
Hello darlings! Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure. This week, I'm waltzing straight into the magical world of Prague, a city so full of history, culture, and of course, gorgeous architecture that I can barely keep up!
You'll all know that I'm always on the lookout for the next perfect performance โ and trust me, Prague has not disappointed! This trip, I've had the absolute pleasure of experiencing the world of ballet here. Imagine cobblestone streets, a light dusting of snow, and the twinkle of fairy lights against a backdrop of gothic cathedrals โ it was enough to inspire even the most seasoned tutu-wearer.
But let's rewind a little. As usual, my journey to Prague was full of delightful escapades. This time, it involved a romantic train journey, all swaying landscapes and quaint villages (and don't even get me started on the endless rows of chocolate shops!). There's something so deliciously charming about taking your time to arrive. And yes, darling, I had to take a few minutes to pose on the platform with my pink tutu twirling in the crisp breeze. A little dramatic, maybe? Absolutely! But how else would the locals know I'm a pink tutu wearing princess of performance?
Speaking of pink, my Prague wardrobe has been utterly fabulous. Imagine me, gliding down the cobblestone streets in my bespoke pink sequined jacket, a matching fluffy pink beret, and of course, the most exquisite vintage tulle tutu in a delightful shade of baby pink (it has little sequined butterflies, just the sweetest!). Prague is a city brimming with chic boutiques, vintage gems, and antique shops bursting with charming finds โ a pink-tutu wearer's dream, honestly!
Now, you can't travel to a city as steeped in history as Prague without delving into its cultural tapestry. On this trip, I explored the iconic Charles Bridge, marveling at the statues that lined its edge and imagining the stories they held. Then, I discovered the Old Town Square with its magnificent astronomical clock and bustling cafes โ an absolute dream! Even the shops felt like portals to the past, filled with intricate lacework, hand-painted porcelain, and handcrafted glass baubles. Every nook and cranny of Prague seems to hum with an enchantment that you can feel in the very air.
And speaking of enchantment, it was on Wednesday, May 23rd, that I stumbled upon the most breathtaking performance! The Prague National Theatre โ a vision of architectural grandeur! It was here that I saw "The Nutcracker," performed by the talented ballet dancers of the Czech National Ballet. Honestly, I've never witnessed such exquisite artistry! The costumes were opulent, the choreography mesmerizing, and the sheer magic of the story unfolded right before my very eyes. I sat enthralled, swept away on a whirlwind of grace, precision, and emotion. You wouldn't believe how much I adore the sweet ballet "Waltz of the Snowflakes," so delicate and airy, a truly magical moment.
Afterwards, I savored a light dinner at a charming cafรฉ, complete with crystal chandeliers, checkered tablecloths, and the most delightful apple strudel (it simply had to be pink!). While the evening stretched before me, the city glittered under the starry night. I spent my evening walking across the bridge and taking in the panoramic view. It was as if the whole city were shining with the afterglow of the show.
Prague, with its blend of architectural wonder, bustling city life, and vibrant art scene, felt like stepping into a fairytale. The perfect location to capture a sprinkle of pink-tutu magic.
But this week's adventure doesn't end with a mere taste of ballet in Prague. You all know how much I love the history of tutu's. Well, a hidden gem in Prague I stumbled across is the fantastic Costume Museum โ which housed a dazzling collection of ballet costumes and accessories. Imagine an entire floor devoted to the history of ballet costume design. I even saw an original tutu designed for Anna Pavlova. I almost choked on my cherry Bakewell, my love of all things tulle, sequins and ribbons almost reached epic proportions. And guess what? I managed to snag the perfect pink feather boa, just for my Prague adventures โ now that's how to add a little je ne sais quoi to any outfit!
But of course, my week wouldn't be complete without a touch of whimsy, and that's where the pony riding came in. I found a charming equestrian centre in the countryside just outside the city. Honestly, riding a white pony through the rolling Czech hills while wearing my most darling tutu, a pink chiffon scarf dancing in the wind, and a basket of picnic treats by my side, was pure perfection.
So there you have it, darlings. Another amazing adventure wrapped in the whimsical folds of a pink tutu. This is a city that's overflowing with charm, and I can't wait to share my next Parisian escapade with you all!
Until next week,
With love,
