Prague Pretty: Tutu Travels in a Pink Paradise - Post #903
Hello, lovelies! It's Emma, your pink-loving ballerina, back with another adventure, this time from the charming, cobbled streets of Prague! I've been dreaming of visiting this magical city for ages, and let me tell you, it has not disappointed! The air is buzzing with the sounds of history and the tantalising aromas of local cuisine, and the buildings themselves seem to be whispering tales of bygone eras.
Today, Wednesday the 15th of August, the sun is shining, casting a golden glow on the city's picturesque spires, and I'm feeling delightfully excited for an evening of balletic brilliance. I've snagged tickets to see the PinkTutuPrague ballet company perform at the beautiful National Theatre. It’s an absolute dream come true! The programme promises an enchanting selection of classical and modern ballets, and I can't wait to soak up the atmosphere and the graceful artistry. You see, I’ve always had a special connection with Prague, it’s where my passion for ballet began. Remember my little blog about those magical days of studying at the Prague Ballet School before my tutu-tastic adventure in London? You can see it all at www.pink-tutu.com.
But first, a bit of exploring! I couldn't resist a quick trip to the famous Old Town Square. It was overflowing with tourists and street performers, creating an electric, chaotic atmosphere. The Astronomical Clock, a medieval marvel, chimed the hour, and I stood mesmerised by its intricate movements, each little figure contributing to its delightful performance. Just like a beautiful ballet routine, really.
Next, I had to succumb to my fashion obsession. Parížská Street was calling my name! It's a street teeming with chic boutiques and independent designer stores. I managed to snag the most exquisite ivory silk scarf with delicate, rose-gold embroidery. A touch of elegance and colour for my evening out - a perfect addition to my tutu-themed wardrobe!
My quest for fashion nirvana also led me to a charming little café, just a hop and skip from my favourite little street. It was a pastel-hued haven, where I enjoyed a delectable afternoon tea – dainty sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of delicate pastries – all while enjoying the delicious aromas and buzzing energy of the city around me. This kind of afternoon tea, so different from what I find at home in England, really reminded me of Anna Karenina, with its decadent style and high-society buzz!
And now, it's time for the grand finale of my day – the PinkTutuPrague ballet! My heart is aflutter, as I can almost hear the sweeping melodies and the rhythmic click of the dancers' shoes. I’m always moved when I see ballet – the grace, the athleticism, and the sheer beauty of the dancers' movements truly inspire me! It’s the most captivating art form and a pure delight to watch, especially as it holds a special place in my life, in all the many places I have lived and travelled to!
I'll be sure to share all about the show with you in my next blog. Stay tuned for some fantastic photographs and a dazzling recap of my Parisian night out. In the meantime, I wish you a tutu-rific day!
Don't forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday for another dazzling instalment of my pink and pretty adventures.
Much love,
