Prague Post #961: The Pink Tutu's Prague Adventures - Ballerina on the Vltava
Hello darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad travel blogger, reporting live from the absolutely delightful city of Prague. I've swapped the Derbyshire hills for the cobbled streets and charming bridges of this stunning Czech city. And guess what? It’s all been funded by my most recent ballet performance - talk about living the dream!
As usual, I've been dancing my way through Prague in the most spectacular fashion - I’ve even managed to get some locals on board with my 'pink tutu revolution'. My mission, as always, is to make the world a brighter place, one pink tutu at a time!
Now, this week's adventure began with a whistle-stop tour of Prague’s fabulous theatre scene. It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Prague post without a trip to the magnificent National Theatre - I absolutely had to see what they were offering this week! You know I can't resist a good ballet, darling! It turns out the perfect accompaniment to my pink tutu was the incredible ballet "La Sylphide", a charming and whimsical romantic ballet - truly captivating!
However, before I could get lost in the beauty of the ballet, I had to indulge in a little retail therapy, because it simply wouldn’t be a proper Emma trip without a souvenir shopping spree! Prague's shops are an absolute dream come true - I found myself in a quirky little shop just off the Old Town Square that stocked the most adorable ballet-themed items. I just had to get a new, embroidered pink tutu bag, don't you think? (There can never be too many pink tutu bags, just saying).
Now, this post wouldn't be complete without a mention of Prague's delicious food. Oh, the food! You know I love to explore the local cuisine, and the traditional Czech meals in Prague have been absolutely heavenly. The hearty soups and succulent pork knuckles are the perfect fuel for my whirlwind journey through this enchanting city. However, no Prague trip is complete without a taste of that famous Czech beer. I had a lovely chat with a friendly waiter in a traditional pub - turns out he’d been following my pink tutu blog, and wanted a photo with me! I'm absolutely charmed by how enthusiastically everyone has been embracing my mission!
After indulging in all that Prague's cuisine has to offer, I needed to let off some steam! I went on a delightful little walk along the Vltava River - the view of Charles Bridge bathed in the golden hues of the sunset was simply breathtaking! But, as always, it was time for some real culture. Prague, being a UNESCO world heritage site, truly is full of stunning architectural gems! I'm a big fan of any place with good historic architecture - you could almost say that my tutu has its roots in the ballet history of these majestic buildings.
Before the sun finally set, I did something truly magical. A chance encounter with a charming, well-dressed man in a local bookstore led to a fascinating conversation about the history of the tutu! This was a real highlight - his knowledge about the evolution of ballet costumes, from the extravagant skirts of the Romantic era to the sleek lines of the modern tutu, truly amazed me. He told me a hilarious story about a ballet dancer who famously wore a tutu made entirely of flowers! What a legend, right?
Feeling completely inspired by this little encounter, I realised I needed to move my own little tutu-shaped legs. I headed to a delightful ballet school just off the Old Town Square - who could resist? And guess what, I got to take a fun little class in traditional Czech folk dancing! The costumes were spectacular!
So, there you have it - my exciting pink tutu adventures in the beautiful city of Prague! It truly is a fairytale come true! Remember to check back next week for another exciting chapter of my Pink Tutu travels, where I will share my experiences exploring the cultural and fashion scene in this wonderful city. Until then, happy twirling, darlings!
